ZF41 value?

Those are Post War East German Vopo Markings in your pics (second picture) and it is a Vopo rework. Same markings you see on a Vopo Luger, Vopo K98...it looks like a nice rifle for a Vopo.

The Vopo strikes again ;) ;)

They do make for nice shooter grade K98's though -- probably the best option that doesn't wear out a true original example and still much better than 'Mitchell's Mausers':bangHead:.

I'm not sure it is vopo. As far as I had read vopo are used a sunburst stamp. And sometimes seen with the x. Would make sense the Russians supplied them with stuff....

I'm wondering if this eagle picture above is an East German military refurb vs police.......or possibly west german?

The bottom line is Billybob's Sauer (ce 41) has been dicked with, and the other one posted is a German postwar rework.

Haha yup it sure is.

Coyote, I don't know about the post war proofing for sure. But I don't know if it is a matter of East German military proofing vs volkspolezi proofing. Or east vs west? Does anyone know for sure?

I'm pretty sure those are East German proof marks from Suhl. Doesn't look like Vopo to me. Actually looks like a standard commercial proof like they would put on a drilling, etc. But I am no expert.

As Steve mentioned, the rifle shown directly above is likely an East German refurb. I was actually looking at a refurbished zf41 the other day and noticed the same polished finish. My knowledge on these rifles drops off drastically after 1945 as I'm not into the post war stuff but I snapped a couple photos of the post war markings on the receiver as I was intrigued. It's very possible that the rifle I observed came from the same source as the one shown above. Perhaps someone who's more knowledgeable with post war markings can weigh in.

I can confirm through other photos I have and the serial number that this is the exact firearm that was offered to me.

It was very nice and an excellent "example" but as others have indicated likely a post war rework.

Thanks guys!

That's too funny! I knew that finish looked familiar hahaha! I have no doubt that you've likely seen the rifle as your profile indicates that you're from Peterborough. I was at a small show in Lindsay, Ontario when I saw the rifle which is within a stones throw of your stomping grounds.

Vopo (VolksPolzei) is East German (DDR) - Communist - post 1945.

Suhl - East Germany

East Germany is East German as in East German K98. Maybe not for Police use with no Sunburst, but average Communist use, or West German???

Berlin Wall toppled in 1989.

I should buy it as I don't shoot my two vet bring back K98k zf41's. More Mauser-itis setting in! LOL
