Ruger 10/22 replacement trigger assembly

Hi everyone. I have a stainless 10/22 and would like an upgraded replacement drop-in trigger assembly with a much lighter pull. I want to get more accuracy and consistency out of the gun. Any suggestions on brands, approximate prices, and where to purchase in Canada for the lowest price?

I filed the notch in the hammer of my stock triggers and am pretty happy the way they turned out. The pull went from about 6 1/2 lbs to 2 1/2lbs. I did a little polishing as well, and now the gun is a lot nicer to shoot. There are many videos on youtube that show you how if your interested.
 
I've seen a few videos online, but will probably stay away from filing for now. I DID remove a couple coils out of the spring of my bolt-action .223 to lighten the pull, but that is about as far as I would want to go on my own. I'd also have no problem with replacing pieces within the trigger assembly. I've looked at Timney triggers online, but I'm not looking to spend that kind of cash. I've heard I can get something decent for around $100.

Order whatever trigger parts you want, Volquartson, Kidd, whatever and then watch the youtube videos and do the work on your own trigger. You will learn a lot and if you do screw up you have the aftermarket stuff to install in its place.
 
I run guns brought in the new Ruger bx trigger group yesterday for $99.99 usd.
These are made by ruger and have under 3lb pull.

Bad news is... Irunguns announced them and they sold out in about 5 hours...
 
I've used Volquartsen, Kidd, Timney and trigger jobs by Dlask and Brimstone Gunsmithing. The first three are all good, but the Kidd two stage is the best. I don't particularly like the extended mag release on the Timney - a few times I almost accidentally released the mag. But some people prefer this feature. For a trigger job I would recommend Brimstone. A very cost effective option and he does excellent work.

my recommendation is to go with Brimstone, choose one of the 3 tiers and that will be more then enough for 99.9% of the people shooting 10/22's.
 
I have owned a dozen Kidd Triggers and dozens of others... I prefer the single stage Kidd over the Two stage... and for a hunting/plinking gun, I like the VQ TG2000 best of the bunch. David at Brimstone does an amazing trigger... get the Tier 1 job, it is well worth it.
 
if you are doing bench kidd 2 stage cant be beat (if you can afford it and you can find it). for general use the kidd single stage is the way to go. set to 1.5lb from the factory and a little less than the 2-stage. also easier to find usually.
 
I picked up a Volquartsen target hammer kit (they didn't have the sear in stock) for $80 taxes included. I haven't decided if I'm going to open it up and keep it or not. Is $80 a decent price? Is there somewhere else in Canada that I can order it from for cheaper? How much for the target and sear combo? If I just go with the Hammer kit, a buddy said he could help me polish up the sear and I'd probably be set. My other option is to look at mailing it away to Brimstone or Dlask. What do you guys think? Also, how long would Brimstone or Dlask take?
