Hey all,

It's been a longtime that I'm looking for a 1911, I found the nightwak really interesting and so nice. But it is SO SO expensive !

Didn't pin into any model in particular yet but would need your though about that brand.

Anything similar and as good as the Nighthawk ?

Any dealer who sale Nighthawk in Canada ? Can IrunGuns import them ?

Thanks and can't wait to see the debat.....:)

I have a Vickers/Nighthawk, excellent pistol and well worth the coin IMO. Try Wanstalls, they seem to be getting right when it comes to 1911's, if I had to buy another? Wilson Combat, or the Ken Hackathorn model, built by WC. Good luck, Remember "buy once cry once".

Anything you buy in the top tier, the 4 previouly mentionned, you will have a large grin in your face... Just saying. JP.

Hey can you post a pic of your Wilson? which model do you have? Thanks

I don't currently have a Wilson. I got out of really expensive stuff in order to fund non-gun purchases.

The only moderately high priced 1911 I have kept at this time is a Baer UTC. It's well below Nighthawk on the universal scale of 1911 goodness, but it runs well and it's accurate enough.

I'd consider either Wilson or Nighthawk to be a significant upgrade over a Baer, and a measurable upgrade over a Brown. I keep the Baer because it's great bang-for-buck in the semi-custom world.

Thanks I understand now why you said that Wilson was better than the Nighthawk.

Are you seriously so insecure about the possibility that one guy thinks Wilsons are better than your favourite gun that you're trying to make this a ####-measuring contest between your Nighthawk and a guy who's openly admitted to using a gun he thinks is worse than yours?

Jesus.

In my experience, Wilson does a better job at blending magwells and puts out more consistent lockwork than Nighthawk, which is probably the result of their decision to use multiple specialist gunsmiths on each gun instead of one individual per gun as Nighthawk was doing (the last time I talked to anyone about it). While I've never felt a bad NH trigger, I've felt varying reset distances and pull weights compared to the last 5 years of Wilson guns, which are the only ones I have personal experience with.

I think Nighthawk's Predator is better set up to handle full-house 10mm loads out of the box than Wilson guns that I have seen and if I was looking for that, I'd probably go to NH.

I'm sorry it's an issue for you that I'd rather have a Wilson...but seriously. They have run well for me in the past and I prefer their approach to magwells and lockwork and as anyone who knows my take on 1911s has heard, those are make-or-break issues for me.

Well easy there bud, I own a Nighthawk I guess from your extensive experience, that you are in a position to comment on the the Vickers/Nighthawk product. I guess what I'm, really getting at is that there are folks like you, who have this all this "hands on" but don't own the pistol? I guess it's all about credibility? You're right though, casue there won't be a better built 1911 than my Vicker/Nighthawk 1911:rockOn:
