Nice !!!! :) :D

That is the SMith acog mount on that silver one.....no milling off the front hand gaurd rails (first 3).

Arms #18 on the dark one.

These are the two different Sage's, silver is the chop-mod and the other is the origional EBR (longer, near the gas system)

let's see some range reports on those please! F'n beautiful!

Did you change the gas cylinder on those rifles? They don't look like the original Norinco ones...

Range reports will follow when the time permits. The gas cylinder on the Norc was changed but the all black Sage is Springfield Armory. The all black is a complete SA M1A, nothing was changed except the addition of a Sadlak Ti Gas Piston.

Most of the parts in the 2 Sage builds are from GG&FB. If anyone would need some parts, PM him and he might be able to help out.

Thanks to everyone and their favorable comments.:)

Are there any parts in the M305 that have to changed for the conversion?
Any mods to the stock or the rifle or is the SAGE a "drop in"?

The SAGE was a drop in on both the SA and the Norc. The mods on the SAGE was just that part of the stock closest to the pin that holds the Op-rod spring guide, Brobee did this already(stock mod) when I bought the stock from him. The Norc pin is flushed with the receiver and will move, but the SA's pin is not flushed and potrudes out from the receiver, so the all black SAGE had no mods done to the stock.

The M305 parts I only used was the receiver and the rear sight, everything else has been pulled out and exchanged with USGI spec parts.

So if you're doing the conversion with a "regular" SAGE stock and the complete M305 you don't have to modify anything? If so how complex is it?

The only thing required is the addition of a spacer as EC stated, to hold the connector lock in place (op-rod spring guide retaining pin)

It is the same mod that is required for a Norc to USGI stock conversion.

You do need to remove the op-rod guide (the figure 8 that holds the op-rod to the barrel) and replave it with a large block that the stock bolts to.

mildot,

Everytime you use a Norc, you still need to do the stock conversion. It's the difference between the US receiver vs Norc receiver. PM Brobee on how he did his, he can probably guide you through it. I just bought the stock from him and the mod was already done. I had a picture of the mod but deleted it since I sold the black CHOPMOD and kept the grey one for this build.

I have Jeff at Valley guns doing the SOCOM conversion on the Norc, and the stock replacement. I just wanted to give him a "heads up" on mods that have to be done. I have complete confidence in Jeff, but I don't think that he has done a SAGE/Norc conversion yet?

I was at the range today. Tried this set up out and I got 1.5 to 2 inch groupings with SA Surplus ammo. Hirtenberger ammo was 1.5 all the way. I have to try some other loads when it becomes available.

I did have some problems with the rifle not feeding properly, I checked out my gas plug and I was able to tighten it up with a small crescent wrench, one half turn. I finger tightened the gas plug prior to the range. Need to go back and try it again.

This report will be updated as soon as I can find the time to go back there.:)

Here is one more to add on thanks to GG&FB

All parts used are SA and Smith ent so everything was a simple drop in.
