Ever since I decided to get a SVT-40, I knew I wanted to mount a scope on it, but something with a bit more power than the traditional scope.

So I finally decided to buy the picatinny mount from Cowin Arms that directly slides onto the existing grooves. Installation was super easy, especially with a very thorough post by grelmar here: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1131313-SVT-40-Picatinny-Rail-Review

So here it is:

Never realized this mount existed for the svt 40. Might have to buy one. Its also nice you don't have to bubba the rifle.

Finally! Looks pretty good, I hope you do a follow up with a range report.

Definitely will do.
Then after that, with the next visit, I'll see how well it keeps its zero when I have to remove it to clean the rifle and put it back on. In theory it shouldn't affect it as it's going to be mounted back on the rail grooves.

Nice rail, I put one on one of my two svt40's just recently. Haven't had time to test it out yet though, you do need to fit it a bit which is easy, as with wartime production there is variation in grove height from reciever to reciever. Martin was saying that the mounts have 4 different sizes of grove thicknesses to allow for fitment as well. The mount I recieved fit my old svt and not my new one, I need to buy another for the other svt now.

It sure does mount solid once you tighten it all down.
