Crap...now I'm spending more money on farkles soon...

Seriously, though, I need a better grip for my Model 25. The grips Smith puts on them are far too slick, and far too thin for their depth.

Do any of the above fill out an N frame grip any better?

I was looking at these but I see they are for round butts, and mine is square

I have hogue wood on my 686....

I find them to be the right size for me. They are quite a bit fatter then the rubber hogue finger groove which I find too thin

'K' frames don't fit my hand either. Had a 19 that no matter what grip I put on never did fit right. So it may just be the frame is too big. Ty the Herrett Custom Shooting Star style though.

Thank you for your help. I have just ordered a set of these to see how they work.

Ahrends "Retro Target" have a flat bottom and a round cross-section. Ahrends "Tactical" have a curved bottom and a flat area on the front of the grip that I didn't like. Is that what your thinking of? This is what they looked like on the Model 25-2:

where die you order your Ahrend grips from? I contacted Ahrend last year for a pair of grips and I was told, that they don't ship into Canada!
Please let me know
Thanks

I was in the same boat about a year ago and ended up buying mine through D&J Gun Repairs. Judy Ahrends actually recommended them and they were great. They carry a decent variety of grips in stock and can custom order whatever Ahrends makes. They also used to sell though eBay under the username: gripseller. That account has been very quiet for a while so I hope they're still in business.

Agreed. I bought probably ten sets over the years from them and they were easy to deal with. I'd heard that Dusty had had some serious health issues a few years back but their ebay account looks to be still active.

I have a Hogue Nylon Monogrip on one of my S&W's. They were the standard grip for PPC shooters for years. But I bought a new one for another K frame of mine, and there is enough grip frame difference between the two that it does not fit. I called Hogue and they suggested shimmming, but I could not get a satisfactory fit.
I think the one piece rubber would be more adaptable then nylon. Something to think about if considering Hogue.

I liked Pachmayr grips but the issue I had with them was that their Presentation grips' enclosed backstrap made the trigger reach too long and I found their "Gripper" grips' finger grooves never lined up with my fingers. And, I never liked how they looked on a blued revolver, although on a stainless or nickel I thought they looked pretty good.

I agree with you on the presentation grips, they did make you reach for the trigger, but they just felt right controlling a L-frame rapid fire with .38 loads.
