Wow, had to look two or three times to make sure I wasn't seeing things.

In the second week of January I bought four Henry model H009's, 30-30 lever guns from our Henry wholesaler - got them a few days later.

Was doing some more ordering today and figured maybe I would get a couple of the brass models (H009B's) and did a double take on the "new" prices.

The H009 went up $289 compared to the wholesale price three weeks ago - that will translate into over a 300 buck increase on the sticker of the gun sitting in the showcase when I sell these four that I have. The wholesale on the brass model is now up there with a Win 94 (which is truly overpriced) so I won't be ordering any - a brass Henry 30-30 is just not going on my shelf with a ticket just over 1000 bucks.

Just one more warning for those "sitting on the fence" about a rifle/shotgun you have had your eye on. If the price is what you have been seeing - use the "buy it now" button.

Yup, between the weak dollar and the new year US price hike, 30% higher sticker prices are pretty common.

While in Orlando last week I went checked out Basspro and their prices were camparable to ours so now with our diving dollar I can see 20-30% increase on new stock.

The low dollar sucks for some things, but it works great for me. Lobster fishing relies on export, and the low dollar gets us more money for our lobsters... Which means I can buy more toys. The price has been good this fall, and my bank account has certainly shown the difference. Just a couple years ago, we had some real bad prices... Couldn't catch enough to make enough money to pay the bills, no way I was spending any extra on goodies.

It's incredible, 15 months ago, i bought from a western dealer, 2 x SSG3000 Sig rifles, i paid 3200.00 all in for both rifles... Yesterday i saw some SSG3000 for 2299.00 each + the works... That is 4900.00 all in for 2 rifles... 4900-3200= 1700 /2= 850.00 more for each rifle... This is BAD... jp.

Yaa it's a kick in the "Gun nuts" with the dollar so low......Since 2010 I promised myself a new firearm every year, which I have done, but not sure about this year.

unfortunately OLD STOCK that was purchased when the dollar was high will get the NEW PRICE and the dealers cash in big time.

I have a great relationship with many retailers (probably due to volume of purchases!), and they'll frequently offer old prices on old stock. Sometimes loyalty is rewarded!

I noticed many STI products pricing has really gone through the roof lately as well....
