IPSC CZ SP-01 9mm mag question

Now on that discussion I'm surprised someone hasn't gotten their Section Coord to petition IPSC Canada to allow mags that are designed for 40 but work with 9mm to be accepted in our matches, holding more than 10. It's legal, so why shouldn't our exemption allow it???

AFAIK, the only official IPSC Canada 3-gun match (Nationals) was held before LAR magazines were available, let alone Beowulf mags.

It's difficult to say "something is allowed in Rifle" when there hasn't been an IPSC Canada rifle match shot since then. The matches you are thinking of maybe using IPSC rules, but are not IPSC sanctioned matches.

I believe the reason would be specifically for the discussion you had earlier in the thread. As competitors, we all want our equipment to work 100%. IPSC Canada does not want someone to take one of their .40 mags and "tune" it to function properly with their 9mm and thereby run afoul of the law.

Great response, thanks! So for IPSC pistol matches, 9mm mags only for a capacity of 10. But for 3 gun and AR, use whatever I want (eg LAR and Beowulf). Got it.

Huh? IPSC Ontario run several Rifle matches during last 4 years. Given they all L1 and L2, so don't require regional sanctioning.

If you were referring to IPSC 3gun Tournament happen at Halifax in 2009, I've got LAR mags from Sean right at that match. So, they were around.

Right, I was referring to regional level matches. I will defer to your knowledge about what is happening in Ontario. I was under the impression that most 3 gun matches were not run under the jurisdiction of IPSC Ontario, but I stand corrected.

There were several IPSC multigun tournaments in Ontario.
Non-IPSC 3gun matches is a whole different story... we have those too.

Several? AFAIK there were only 2 (held at the same club) and sadly I couldn't make it out for either one :( Were there any held outside of Peterborough? Where/when were they?
