Here's a sight option that may interest some owners of the 13" Norc. The rifle has a high bolt lift and short dove tail grooves, which brings the bolt handle too close to a scope eye piece for my taste. Plus, I wanted a very rugged sight that gave good accuracy but could stand up to rough handling. I finally settled on a Skinner Sight and here are some before and after pictures:

The sight is beautifully made and fits onto the grooves with only a light tap. Tightening the mounting screw holds it on securely. I also got the optional Merit attachment (shown) which gives you an adjustable aperture. It replaces the stock ring. I haven't decided yet which aperture I'll actually use, but the Merit piece works well. It fits over the same threads as the stock ring so swapping them just takes a minute.

I thought I might have to replace the front blade with a higher one, but it turns out the factory front sight is OK. The gun shoots 3" high at 25 yds, which is just about right for a 6 o'clock hold. The factory leaf sight is not visible when you're looking through the peep.

This is a good set up if you don't like the way scopes fit on the rifle and want something a lot better than the factory irons.

Looks good! What's the part # and why not remove the leaf sight for a cleaner look? Do you find the OEM front blade a little fat for the peep?
I was looking to upgrade my irons but ended up mounting a Simmons 22lr Mag 4x.

I have this rifle as well and installed a CZ200 Tech Sight. It came with a replacement front blade and hood - I could install the hood but not the taller front blade, so I had to extend the blade by myself by JB-welding a shaped piece of plastic to it. Also didn't need to remove my factory rear sight.

I like the Tech Sight very much, but a problem with the short barrel is that the front blade is quite fat in the aperture, so the sight picture is not as precise as it would be with a full-length barrel.

I don't know the part number, but if you go to the Skinner web site under Rimfire you'll see that one of the sights is made especially for the JW15. (Probably because the Norc is a clone of a CZ and the same sight works for either.)

Removing the leaf sight would be nice, but would require some gunsmithing since it's soldered or glued on. Also, I might want to sell the gun sometime and it would probably be easier to sell a factory condition rifle and the sight as separate items. As is, it doesn't get in the way so it's easier to just leave it.

The OEM front blade is not too fat for the peep (also, with the Merit attachment you can adjust the size of the hole.) My problem is that with my vision at that distance the blade is a bit fuzzy. For me a circular front aperture works best with a peep sight. If you can see the blade clearly the width of it shouldn't be an issue.

My leaf sights came off very easy, there was no solder or glue.

How exactly did you remove it? The forward end of the assembly has a little dovetail notched into the barrel. There's also some kind of material around the edges of it. I've been assuming that stuff was glue or solder, but maybe it's not. The rear part, that has the leaf adjustment notches, seems securely attached. It's not clear to me how this would come off.

Lift up the rear sight and remove the elevator, Then use a brass punch and gently drift the sight out of the dovetail. Soak it in penitrant of your choice if you feel the need.

Yeah mines long gone. All i have left for Chinese stuff is shotguns :p

But it looks like we had twins lol.

I went 100% cheap Cheap Chinese top to bottom - cheap rifle, cheap scope/rings, cheap bipod... I think it barely nudged north of $200 all told.

And you know what? Shoots pretty good.
