SVT-40 shooter Bolt polished pics

Well I decided to polish my bolt and carrier on my svt-40 1942 shooter. Here it is next to my avt stocked sniper rail 1941. Heres a few pics of my corwin arms posp scope and illuminated reticle.













The reticle is a little distorted because of the photo but you get the idea.

Looks a lot better polished I think , just leave it in vinegar over night then scrub off and polish with dremal and metal polish .

I like SOME of the refurb bolt colours. Gold is best, brown is worst, purple or plumb looks like crap but really really dark purple looks black and I like that.

Polished bolt looks historically incorrect on 1942 rifle, but well, it is your rifle.

The plumb bolt is authentically correct from factory refurb processes. That said, it is your rifle and it looks good, just not correct.

OK, so my '43 plum bolt is OK but my '41 should be "au naturel"... OK... will do !!

So... vinegar overnite, then polish with Dremel and metal polish. Sounds like a plan !!

These are the SVT-40s I ordered from Lever Arms in December 2013. Love the gold !!

My son got the gold and I kept the plum.

The gold bolt is nice looking, although I don't mind the plum either lol.

I thought they blued the bolt and because of the type of metal it took on a purple tint?

I did the vinegar removal thing, and left my bolt assembly "in the white". Looks better than polished, but that's my humble opinion....

I like the polished bolt, I did the bolt on my SKS and it looks like chrome.
