Does anyone know if it's possible to disassemble the mk1 rear sight on a no4 enfield? I'm aware if how to remove it but curious if it can be disassembled.

Thanks
Jeremy

yes it is possible, you have to drift out the small retaining pin (I believe its 1/16") that holds in the fine adjustment screw then remove the screw being careful not to loose the small bearing and spring that act as the "ratchet" mechanism for fine adjustment of the aperture.

As a general guideline, if something is made of separate parts, assembled, it will be possible to disassemble it.

Of course, there may be an incorrect way to disassemble a thing, breaking it. (Don't ask me how I know that.)

If pins are staked in place, then it's not really that friendly to disassemble :p

So the pin as I see it is on the left side at the top. How would you punch that out? Looks like it goes into the adjustment knob

I was thinking I could put washers around the adjustment screw under the aperture to create a kind of zero stop for my cast bullet load. Sounds like too much work. I ll survive :)
