The stock grip? Haven't shot it but i don't mind the feel of it. Thanks boys, I should be able to put some moe furniture on tonight.
Looks like you bought the "Sport" model. We've got two in the family now. Both came with pretty good triggers. Can't say I miss not having the FA or the ejection port cover.
I had a Magpul fore end and PG on mine and took them off. I actually prefer the factory fore end. Feels better in my hand in all positions. I did put on SOG butt stock pads and they feel pretty good compared to the bare factory butt.
In the current "Special Weapons" magazine there is an article on a bare bones direct impingement Patrol Carbine they call their AR-556. It's got both a FA and dust cover, 1X8" twist. MRSP $749 USD. If I was to add another AR 15 to the fold, I'd try a Ruger AR-556. Hard to beat the Ruger warranty.
I like simplicity in all my guns.
theres a company in montreal that handles all rugers warranty work, never had a problem with them... any problem they fixed for free all i had to do was pay the shipping there... i forget the name, but when i called ruger they gave me contact number for them.Ruger has no warranty.....no written one anyway. They do have good customer service in the US and will repair free or for a small fee.
In Canada you get nothing from Ruger, but the dealer may throw you a bone.
