22 Hornet

I have one marked 49 on the barrel(zkw 465). love it for gomers etc. really love that 1 pound of lil'gun lasts forever. would love to try one in a ruger 77 someday.

Currently a Ruger #3 and a Browning micro. I have had quite a few and liked the Savage (340 ?) I have used it on coyotes called in and many gophers. 37gr Calhune (spl) work well. Bullets made with sized 22 rimfire brass out to 100yds. I shoot it for less than a 17HMR. You will enjoy it and shoot more.

Here's an Anschutz model 1431 from 1965 - haven't even shot it yet - hoping it groups well ;)

I've had a very similar model 1430-1434 that I bought in 75, just don't load it too hot and make sure you don't set the shoulder back when resizing or case life will suffer. You will find the mag a bit limiting on bullet selection, stick to round nose or semi spitzer or you will find that the case will project past the start of the ogive if you seat long pointed designs seated deep enough to feed thru the mag. I've always shot .224 Hornet bullets and the now discontinued Nosler Solid Base 45gr. Hornet Bullets were the best if you happen to come across some old stock

edit: mine will stay under a inch for 5 shots at 100 yds with the best handloads and does very well the few times I used WW factory loads to get new brass
