Hi,

My rifle is shooting 2 inches and a half to the right, the rear sight is obviously not centered just be looking at it. How can I ajust this? There's no screw, I tried to tap it without much success since I don't want to break it.

Is there good iron sights I can buy as a replacement?

Squirt some penetrating oil / lube on the front sight and let it sit overnight. See if you can tip the rifle and let it pool in the front site grooves so it can seep in.
Gentle taps with a hard plastic punch. You'll need to tap it to the right.

Maybe a pic of the rear sight looking down the barrel would help
picture of the front sight could help too.
 
Agreed pics would be helpful. The rear sight should be in a dovetail. If it were easy to move it would move just by vibration.
Using a wood block or similar to support the rifle, a solid punch and hammer you should be able to move the rear sight to the left to bring the POI back to the left. Put some tape on the barrel and make some index marks on the sight and the barrel tape. This will help you to verify how much the sight has moved. The sight itself is usually on (wrapped around) a dovetail block, if you can try and hit just the block.

Rear sight is not dovetailed. It doesn't move left-to-right. It moves up and down only.

At least thats the case with my mark II.

I dont need pics, because I own the gun in question, and besides you could look up the owners manual on the savage website I betcha, which will tell you the exact same thing I did.

What kind of mrk2 do you have that has a rear sight that isn't in a dovetail??
Savage manual clearly shows the rear sight is in a dovetail.

To the OP, brass punch + hammer will tap the rear sight into position. It'd be impressive if you break it.

true, however I'll wager you have never banged sideways on your rear sight with a hammer.

Ideally Suther is right, on a MarkII all you would need to do is adjust the front sight like any other dovetail. However, I have a feeling this is not an ideal situation, thus pics would be helpful.

So after careful consideration I think you should just scope it. It's easy to do, digging through my notes I believe the bases are:
Weaver:
#15 0.195"
#16 0.205"
#43 0.265"
#45 0.396"
Pretty sure I found #16 at my LGS

Well I stand corrected, the rear sight IS in a dovetail. My bad. Regardless, the manual does say to use the front sight for adjusting.

As for whether your rear sight is out of place or not, we'd need a picture taken from the top down to see how it lines up with the barrel.

Ok, I guess Ill tap both of them with the punch and hammer to make them centered and do the ajustements with the front sight.
