I don't have much experience with handguns.

I have a little norc woodsman... I have shot my buddies glock and a sig a few times.

I was watching top shot the other day and they were doing a challenge with the Beretta. I have always thought it was a slick handgun. I have also wanted to step up to a "real' handgun... why do some people crap on the Beretta and say Glocks are better. Glocks are ugly as hell...

Any Beretta owners want to sell me on one haha. Or confirm what I am already going to do?

Cheers!

Beretta is a legendary firearm, and you won't go wrong with it. but you gotta try it first. as you must know by now, grip comfort is important and everyone's preference is little different.

and if you like Beretta, give Girsan a try as well. Beretta's exact copy and apparently build quality is up there with the original.

and there's literally hundreds of threads already on Beretta. not giving you hard time, but maybe you can search and take a look at previous threads for more info.

Yeah I hear ya, sometimes fun to start it up again haha.

Fixed that for you :) The Girsan has finger grooves while the Beretta doesn't. I don't mind grooves when they line up with my grip but dislike them when they don't.

I used to own an older 92 FS Inox that I really liked...I might buy one again someday. I didn't find the grip that big, and I've got small hands. The "D" spring makes a big difference in DA pull weight, too, and is an easy install.

Took me a while to find a pic...here it is.

Post a want to buy ad in EE forum. I cant help with selling one because mine is a keeper ;) but I also have a Glock, another keeper (for now) they're not pretty but simple and light and they work. Beretta just does the same thing with class. People who talk crap about them just have insecurities about their own guns lol 92FS is a solid extremely reliable pistol.

That is a beauty

I like the fat grip on the Beretta and I like the reliability, I like the way it shoots and I really like the looks of it.
So when I saw these Model 70/71's in 22LR come up surplus for a good price I had to have it. Same story as the 9mm.

IRG have a used one....for a fair price with the crab $$$ exchange.

My first (was and is) an M92 FS. Deadly accurate out of the box. Very easy to field strip with a flick of a switch.

Sights are very easy to use (3 dot sights).

Not going to give it up.

I absolutely love the 71 model. I wish the barrel was shorter tho!

The gun in the picture started life with a 4 inch barrel which was replaced with a new 6 inch barrel to be sold to us peasants without a 12.6. it came with a nice box which was made for the shorter barrel and the gun won't fit.

They are very accurate and quite reliable. DA trigger a bit heavy but very smooth. Slide is smooth as glass.
I like the older straight dust cover vs. the new slanted ones.

Bought the 92fs a few months ago. Love the look and feels great (I have small hands). Shoots nice as well.

Only thing I don't like is the trigger. SA is a lot heavier compared to my cz75 sp01

I bought an M9 last year and it IS my favorite gun. I must warn you it is a big gun but, i found that it fits perfectly even with my smalish hands. The SA/DA trigger does take some getting used to but once you fired a few rounds you wont go back to anything, trust me.

Btw if you want to lighten the trigger i highly recommend the "D" spring from Brownells for about 8$

Have the 92FS with the D spring and a stainless steel guide rod. If the Libs ever restrict us to 1 single handgun per person and force us to get rid of the rest, the Beretta would be the one I'd keep (and yes, I own a Glock as well).

Berettas are pure ### captured in metal, IMO.

I shoot my buddy's 92FS once in a blue. Fits me well and looks ###y but I can't get used to the trigger (IIRC its a DA/SA) and using the de-cocker.
Perhaps if I shot it more…..

I bought one recently love it but I think it is a little rare and I feel guilty shooting it, made in Italy 92 with a 15### serial number and frame mounted safty, smooth as glass and fantastic shape for a 30 plus year old pistol. From what I have found sounds like it is from the first two years of production.
