Shipping box clearly labeled as ammo - is this normal?

http://www.saami.org/specifications...212-facts_about_sporting_ammunition_fires.pdf

This is most likely what uninformed neighbor is concerned about. Educate him that ammunition is a fire poses no threat. It is a matter of physics really. Lets say you have a fire. You have an explosion/ignition. One side of the cartridge is heavy and one side light. which part of the cartridge will go flying? Educate the ignorant!!

The part he needs to concern himself with, it the question of whether that case can get through drywall and into the next suite. The answer is no.

Hmmmmm....

My wife get's excited everytime she finds ammo bouncing around in the washing machine or dryer that I forget to take out of my pockets from work. I just ignore the issue and 10 minutes later it's forgotton. Do the same with this noob and see what happens.

I live in a condo, and my packages get delivered to a front desk. The boxes tend to sit right on the desk in the lobby. With all the scarcity in sourcing ammo, I managed to find what I needed from Cabelas.ca. They shipped it to me in a box that had the contents clearly marked on the outside of the box.

At first, I didn't actually notice the label, but while I was signing the logbook (confirming that I've picked up my package), the guy behind me in line loudly asked in a horrified, disgusted tone, "Those aren't bullets, are they?? You can't have bullets in a condominium!" At the time, I didn't know how he would have known that, so I just laughed, shrugged and went on my way.

Right before opening the box, I noticed the label:

It's my first time getting ammo shipped, and I don't usually buy from Cabelas. Is this normal??? If it is, I'll shut up. I just thought it would be standard to have some kind of discretion, especially for folks like me who live in the GTA.

Next time I see that guy, I'm gonna give him some lengthy but polite education on Canadian firearms laws.

Nah, just tell him to go #### himself, and mind his own business. I have no time for stupid people.

The carriers have different rules for us mere mortals :runaway:
Whats the big deal about anyways?
Has anyone ever asked for some special considerations from the seller to ensure it is wrapped so prying eyes can not be scared of a silly orange sticker on a box?
As for nosy staff members(door greeters) their job is to record details and be pleasant and polite if they are not complain to their boss about their rude or abusive :kickInTheNuts: abrasive behavior.
Then again, it wouldnt generate discussion if it where that easy :nest:

Whips and dildo's for your ### parties; just saying.

Ya, mine has come with the orange label when I bot surplus.
Buying from SFRC it is discreetly packaged though (nutz sponsor, logo on top right + 12% sale on long weekends)
Ya part of why I am glad to be out of a condo is I dont like the horrific rules they impose.
I don't know if any "bylaw" can superseed something covered specifically in a FEDERAL regulation.
I bet there is court cases some place in Ontario,,,,

Thanks for posting this, it is a good lesson learned.

Ive had ammo delivered to my door, in the standard Military crate, with a nice big orange explosive label on it. So, Its pretty normal.

I believe its only firearms which require discreet packaging. I think ammo is treated like explosives in regards to transport, so their might be some regulations that state proper labellings must be on the container.

I would also double check your condo regs. Just to cover all your bases in case the guy decides to make it an issue with the condo board. Better safe then sorry.

Depends

If by CP there can be no "gun" markings on the box

Shawn

Ive received many guns in original packaging from canada post. Even had them forge my sig and leave them on the front porch.
Couple weeks ago my dad and i both ordered crossbows from a site sponsor and the ups guy saw my truck and followed me across town and pulled in behind me and said hey i missed you earlier i got your crossbow. I looked at the package wrapped in brown paper and asked howd he know what was inside. He said i got a box the same size and weight from the same shipper without wrapping in the truck. I laughed and said i bet i could guess the shipping address. My dad had left a note saying leave it behind the house but hadnt signed it so the guy couldnt drop it off. He let me sign for it and there it was in the original box. Dont know why one was wrapped and the other not. Alot of times it comes down to the worker. The canada post office girl has seen me go in and get guns weighed and sell me boxes to fit and watched me open any damaged paxkages i receive. Canada post office in shoppers drug mart has never questioned me about shipping guns or receiving them with logos or not

I just had a couple of cases of shotgun shells delivered from cabelas. They put each box in a slightly bigger, unmarked box. Strange they didn't do the same for your order.

^This and ask him if he thinks Bad Dragon is a good brand
Or wait until doofus picks up a package and loudly say for all to hear, "those aren't used adult ### toys are they"??

As for your delivered ammo it's none of his business and feel free to tell him so with a firm "F$#% you".
