I think the svt-40 is the craziest looking red rifle ever made, It is also my favorite. It is so mean looking even jesus frowned when it was made.

APS Underwater gun, I can't even understand how the magazine works.

Since it's underwater, an "ordinary" one would be the VSS Vintorez, for some reason historically no one has done silenced better than the Russians. From cartridges that propel the bullet via a piston to reduce noise, to the only silenceable revolver ever they have the area covered, to the only integrally silenced sniper rifle using specialty subsonic ammo.

Pushing a 400grain 9mm at just slower than the speed of sound while retaining the ability to penetrate 10mm of steel is damn crazy and as much potential for evil as can be.

Definitely the Korobov.

The SKS's older, and much bigger, brother:

Uncommon, but with a standard 5 round magazine and a 47inch barrel, these are fortunately still non-restricted sporting rifles in Canada.

Does anyone in Canada actually have one of these?

Yes I believe he lives in TO. He brought it to the EOSC Mil-Surp shoot spring 2014. It is a beast of a thing but ammo is a slight issue. Just think if he had ammo in hunting legal format. He could down a moose at 1km and knock it into next week.

As for crazy design, most red rifles are more simplistic in design as opposed to crazy. Beautifully functional but lacking in aesthetics. Crazy, no. But then standing in front of a hundred thousand screaming comrades with extended bayonets charging at you, now thats crazy. Who would think "what a crazy looking rifle"

Several. They even show up on the EE every now and then. The problem is getting ammo for them, you're basically getting the brass and bullets custom milled, and making your own reloading rig.

Next time you're in Calgary, drop by ProLine shooters and look up, there's one hanging from the centre of the ceiling. It is not a dewat. It is very much a functioning rifle.

"Craziest" design... what ever that means, red rifle for Canada, hopefully will be the Polish kit RPD.... fingers crossed for that positive FRT.

Mayyyyybe. ;)

Getting ammo for it is a major undertaking, everything needs to be CNC lathed, and a press and dies need to be purchased, neither of which are cheap, as you need a hydraulic press and monster dies to make everything work.

The suppressor on the VSS is the most basic suppressor I have seen I was actually surprised at how basic it was:

Also what is strange about the mag on the underwater gun. The big part is where the ammo goes, the small part that is the regular sized mag is where the spring gets compressed into. Interesting that the gun supposidly fires from an open bolt to ensure water is always in the barrel.
