Looks like the dates are out!

CAFSAC The dates have been moved by the CA to 7 - 20 Sep 15 (previously 14 - 26 Sep 15)

Cheers.

P.S> Who is going Bisley UK this year? Around June I heard. If any of you has info on this PM me please.
I made it for the team but not sure I will be available for it this year. The ARMY has other plans for me... :ar15: :ninja:

Thank you.

If you senior NCO types would get off your ass and commit the time to start up a MARPAC shooting team you would likely get to go too.

Or you could continue to ##### about it every year and actually do nothing to fix it as that seems to serve you well each year..............

Mike, not our call, we tried. It's the guys with gold bars on their epaulettes that call the shots. Or in this case (no shots):p

Mike, last year we even had an officer to run the show. Us NCO's where going to take an RSO course to expedite using Heals, but no dice. Due to operational commitments and limited funding I think a MARPAC team is a thing of the past. BTW I went to CFSAC in 92. It was GREAT. Shooting alongside the BART (Brits) was a blast. Having the Van doos whine that we could wear ball caps was also special:p Also when industry came out and let us unwash shoot as much as we liked was also fun. Our team partook in the soldier cup and kicked a few army units butts too, we didn't win but it was fun. Nope, I think a west coaster has to be a shad (army) to go, us navy guys are SOL, IMHO.

We still do... haha

The short and long of it is that Reg force shooters on the West Coast need to get out to regional and provincial level competitions. Then there would be interest and participation at the regional level and thus demonstrated interest, dedication and competency. The fact is that Reservists are buying our own rifles, ammo, memberships and paying our own travel to train so we can qualify for the teams that goes to Ottawa says we really want to compete and are making it happen.

I know a lot of people would love to go but its time...its kids...its other things that come up....gone are the days of buggering off and shooting on a whim......my winter is pretty much spent at a rink so that limits my availability...season is almost done, so we shall see what can happen this summer.

The fact that the Army run has more jam behind it than our national military marksmanship competition infuriates me.

don't even talk about Army Run around me.....

and this year its going to be bigger...

But I think a steak was driven into the heart of the 'bright idea' that there should be an Army Run West held in a big city out West (Vancouver, Edmonton, or Calgary)

If only we could just ignore the Army Run this year......

Yes. With most of the Senior shooters unable to attend, they have driven a steak into the heart of the Western Army Team and don't understand. Sad. Perhaps they'll figure it out when the team tanks.

Bummer. I'm out this year as I'm (finally) taking my trades course. I hope there's something of a team left next year if I'm available again. Especially now as the CAFSAC program is seeing some positive changes again.

Some sort of team is a bit of a far cry from a contender lol. The reserve team goes there to win for the west and their units! Not for a participation badge. The west has one of the best teams in the country. They don't seem to care which sucks. Why wrap the teams up in petty stuff? Why stop shooters, who cannot take multiple week holidays more than once a year, from doing the thing they are best at? Doesn't make any sense. This will kill the spirit and the hard work we've done to bring new shooters up to speed. Hard to be competitive with a team full of tyros.
