Vancouver Sun article on Colt Canada prototype.

Horrible article

I'm with you there...

Typical bit of poor journalism. A story written by someone without even half a clue.

"As great as a self-aiming gun might sound – imagine being able to guarantee you won’t hit a school beside a target with a grenade"
WTF??? I have this picture in my head of the kids lining the windows taking in the spectacle as grenades are being launched like those untrained idiots you see firing RPG's. Journalists need to be recruited from other occupations so they at least have an understanding about the topic they are reporting on.

"Correction: An early version of this story stated an incorrect branch of the U.S. military when referencing the Osama bin Laden raid."

Sure. That time the U.S. military used a Canadian mockup of a gun on Osama bin Laden raid. Isn't BC bud great?

"rifle-###-grenade launcher" just means rifle with grenade launcher. I don't know why the media needs to dress it up with these terms. However, it does paint a nasty picture when taken out of context. Imagine the wound that could make?! Ewww.
We had a local reporter, years ago, use the word "#####rdly" to describe the Navy after agreeing to a settlement for damages to private property. They could have used "cheap" or "stingy" or "miserly" but someone had bought them the dictionary toilet paper for Xmas and they needed people to read the article.

Edit: I guess there is software in the forums that prevents the use of a latin word that has several meanings. ###
