40 years ago I could have bought them by the case lot for about $40 each. Okay,, today in fact I saw a very nice Brazilian in 30-06 going for $500. That's the best i can give you.

your link doesn't work. you don't give nearly enough information either. at least 8-10 different variations of your description. Which one do you have????

1908 contract long Rifle in pretty nice condition.

Looks like you got a good deal on it.

I have 2 here which are not for sale: serial numbers 20 and 25. Both are pretty special because they both came from good friends.

Number 25 has wear at the Leade but still will shoot an honest 1.2 inches at 100 yards. That is grouping on a Loonie.... if you can see it at that range.

From the look of the muzzle, I would expect this one to be at least as good, so long as you are careful with the handloads. These rifles, in decent condition (and yours is definitely decent) are capable of accuracy well under the 1 MOA figure.

For a 107-year-old rifle, that is very, very good indeed.

Enjoy your toy: a modern rifle, built to the same standards by the same methods, would be a $2000 affair at very least.

It will be perfect for milsurp shooting matches for a century to come.

I'd call that example about a $500 gun as well, assuming that the bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. If it was pristine, it could fetch as much as twice as much.
