Tavor advice about fore grip. Should I do it?

Just installed the MI XL keymod. Is a forgrip something I should look at adding? Will it be better than just leaving it? Better aiming? Anyone have pics with an XL keymod with fire grip to post?

What forgrip is recommended?
 
I can't find the point of a foregrip on a tavor, maybe a magpul afg? Unless you have big hands you aren't doing the thumb over bore thing either. I kinda like the Israeli style shooting with mine so far.

Good question. Search BCM online and make sure you know the actual model you want, then call Reliable tomorrow. Their website says they have them but just make sure you know what you're buying cause I think BCM makes a few different types of these. Ctcs's website has them listed but they're outta stock so you can always ask them when they plan on getting more. :cheers:

The primary advantage of the XL handguard is that now you have a flat solid space on the bottom of your Tavor, so that you can rest on a barricade/obstacle without A) pushing your barrel or B) rolling around on the factory handguard.

Putting a vertical grip on there will remove this advantage.

I haven't been able to find a canadian vendor that sells them, where are you guys finding the xl handguard?

I just blocked my credit card. Brownells told me fifty bucks to ship a fifty dollar foregrip. They refused to cancel order. No shopping quote until I called them to ask after I placed order.


Got it from a guy on EE for same price.

I ordered mine from Wolverine they don't show it on their website you just send them an email tell them you want the Tavor XL Handguard item # MI-TKHXL and they will order it in for you.




I tried the Israeli way of holding the Tavor but its uncomfortable to me having big arms, So I tried a couple different vertical grips they were better but ultimately I went with the Magpul AFG2 for me it works by far the best.

I tried a few vertical grips on my Tavor but ultimately have found I like it better without the grip. My AR's on the other hand, I love having a vert grip on. With the Tavor, it just seems pointless and takes away from its "handiness", if that makes any sense haha. Just my opinion.
