Here are pictures of the wooden grips (maybe the weakest quality component of the whole pistol)

These are abut the nices pair I have seen in a long time, I did not remember the grip been that short on the bayard.
Your b fn looks better than a nib one I had; maybe you run a camera better than I do. great pictures.

Other Bayard models (like 1903 or 1910) have larger grips
The Baby is a brand-new unfired 1980's (or so), that's why it looks so nice...

Aaaahhhhhhh. Nice guns, and the photography is pretty good too. There is nothing more relaxing than admiring old guns. What stories do those two have to tell?

I might be having a brainfart but a hundred years ago there was an outfit called S.I.R. Mail Order and you could buy guns like those by the bushel! They had some old Steyr pistols once that looked much like yours and I was going to buy one ... but ya know how that goes: life intervened, I said I would get one later...and 'later' never happened.

When I retire and retreat to the gun club to harass the other seniors there will be a mandatory yearly 'Curio & Relic Shoot' for all members. I will go and confiscate the entire shop at Milarm (including their first rate museum) and plunk it down on the range for the event. Hmpfff - what are the chances of a range report Bruno? Can you shoot them for us?
