Has anyone shot a CZ and a Grand Power X-Calibur and how do they compare?

I was wondering if anyone could offer an opinion for comparison sake only on how each of these guns shoot and if someone has a nod towards one or the other why?

Thanks in advance.

I would go CZ just for the back-up, parts/acc availability alone.

Grand power has had some real issues getting the Canadian market set up. Seems to jump distributor/retailers a lot.

shot both, the CZ has a bit better trigger, they have the same recoil with minor pf ammo, x-cal is lighter so its quicker/easier on transitions

same in all other respects really

I found the GP X-calibur to be pretty finicky, didn't cycle well, not a fan. I actually prefered the GP K-100 to the X-calibur, but more felt recoil. CZ all day long for me.

Owned a k100....still own a Cz...got prety fed up looking for bits, particularly mags, was a great shooter, just not enough support in Canada...Cz on the other hand, nicest trigger I've ever shot, parts, mags, spare bits readily available.....go Cz, you won't regret it..

Dumped my CZ as it was too heavy. Running a Mk7 X-calibur and the trigger was great out of the box, even better now after being stored every time with the hammer cocked. Spare parts available from the factory but the North American Grand Power representative has always been great to work with.

The STI GP6 wasn't dropped because it wasn't good, it was because of a regime change.

They are both nice pistols.
I think most of the people complaining about support with the Grand Power's are not complaining because the guns broke down but more because accessories have been harder to find.
If you need a dozen magazines for competition it might be worth waiting till the mags arrive ( they are due soon). If your OK with the 2 magazines they come with for the next 6 weeks or so go for it!
With the recent price increase the Slovakian guns are about the same price as the Czech guns. Both are well made with maybe a slight edge to the Grand Power for durability (springs and slide stops). The rotating barrel is fairly unique in the GP where as the Browning linkless cam locking system is more common.
I have both and have come to prefer the GP but they are both nice shooters and I don't need a bunch of mags for competition.

My first GP was the STI version that I bought on a blow out sale and my second GP was a newer MK12 that I also got on a blow out sale. For the price of the MK12 I couldn't pass because the improved "glock" style takedown buttons and stiffer picatinny dust cover is a nice improvement. GP has made many changes and improvements over their short time in business and it seems they are close to perfecting it.
CZ nailed it in the 70's and really hasn't changed much in the last 40 years.

Hey everyone thanks for all the comments. I really appreciate them. I was asking as I am looking for a second handgun. I should have mentioned in my OP that I currently have the CZ SP01 Shadow and was wondering about the X-Calibur as a second gun.
I shoot production in IPSC and was curious about the feel of the GP.
