Just wait a little many companies are starting to come up with x39
What was the supposed reason NEA uses 4 gas rings on their 7.62 bolts?
Or was it just that someone used a .063" insert by accident instead of a .047" insert and they just added an extra gas ring to compensate?
*groove width should be .053"+.005"
.053" groove -.047" tool=.006" offset (.053"/3=.0176")
.063" tool +.006" offset =.069" groove (.069"/4=.0172")
I'm sure that I'm wrong, though.![]()
sorry ID64, not want to hijack your thread, just want to chime in about same caliber carbine... my rather new AR15 SRC Windham Weaponry in 7.62x39 that runs like a champ.
I never had any kind of alphabet scary hick-ups (FTL/FTF/FTE) so far so good!
Shot more then 600 rnds of non-corr. Nork ammo (2014) + aprox 300 surplus corr. Czech and Russian (1986), runs perfect with both ammo not even one dummy round or stoppage.
I'm very satisfied with my lil'black WW rifle in 7.62x39.
*here is WW rifle info from one of our site dealer (not a hot link), from where I got it couple of weeks ago:

They now make all bolts with 4 rings as far as I know.
Nea or manufacturers that make 7.62x39 bolts?
Whats the reasoning? If 3 has been working for over 50 years then may as well add a fourth?
NEA is.
You'll have to ask them.
Btw, because something works one way, doesn't mean that there aren't advancents that can be made. Without change the world becomes stagnant. Look at their CCS stock, they are so popular in the US that NEA can't keep up with demand.

Another 300 rounds and no problems.
great thread. thanks id64. makes me feel a bit better about the nea 7.62 im waiting for.
Glad to helpOne more time - stay away from Norinco ammo, from my experience using it in any AR platform is a bad idea.
would the dominion 7.62 off canadaammo or lcw be better?
