.22 cal Handgun idea's for a 11yr old

everything I know that will work is on the prohib list..........but a llama would be and is perfect for smaller hands, scaled down 1911

Browning 1911-22, it's an 85% scale of a regular 1911. Has a polymer frame too so it's lighter weight. Had the chance to fire one a few weeks ago. I was very impressed with it.

good to know.........the llama needs a rest

Star Model F. My daughters and nephew used this when they were about 12-13. Not a match gun, but they were very happy plinking away at 10 yards.

All steel and the other side has 1911 positioned controls. A 4.2inch barrel.

Year 2000 there was not much on the market for smaller shooters.

Ruger 22/45. Also has polymer frame to reduce weight and if you find one with removable grip panels, you can get some to suite your needs. Both my kids (8 & 10) shoot it without a problem.

Ruger Bearcat. I feel the action is probably a better choice for an 11 year old as well.
Ditto this….it's small enough and will be a good choice to safely teach a child or even a new shooter the basics one round at a time.
Not cheap but its a quality piece that will last a few gens and will holds its resale value.

x2 on the Browning 1911-22, light, quite accurate, eats any ammo I have tried in it, and a really fun gun.

Ruger 22/45 (Mark III)

Browning Buckmark

In my lengthy experience, these are the most reliable .22 semi's available under $500 with any ammo from cheap to expensive.

x3 on the browning 1911-22, it's probably one of my favourite postols to shoot, and as people have mentioned it's not a fussy eater, I've yet to come across any ammo it won't eat, not all have polymer frames, they newer black label models and the tan and black verson do but I believe the standard is still an aluminum frame
