I called a store and they told me that there is no such thing as G19 Gen 4 but yet I see it on Glock website.

What's the truth here? Is it G19 Gen4 not available in Canada at all hence the store said there is no such thing?

the original glock 19 gen 4 has 4" barrel which is illegal in this commie country that we live in. Questar and irunguns sell them with an aftermarket lone wolf or storm lake barrel that meets the 106mm minimum barrel length.

So what the hell they were talking about?!? A gun store who don't know a lot about Glock, or they simply just lied to me to get me to buy the gen 3 instead?

I know about the legallity of the barrel. That is why they come with longer barrel in Canada.

You can get a 19 if you're dead set on it but the 17 is a better fit for Canadians in my opinion. The 19 has become the carry Glock of choice in the US because of its size.

Could you please elaborate why g17 is a better fit for Canadians?

I far prefer my gen 2 G19's and G23 (all 12-6) over the full sized guns. The grip size / shape fits my hand much better. Oh, finger grooves suck too. :) I haven't found any yet that fit my hands.

Depends on the size of your palm I guess, but I'll take full size pistol over 19/23 size any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Better grip, softer shooter, cheaper to buy and there is very little difference in size. I can't stand 26/27 whatsoever.

The 19 fits smaller hands just a little better. My 12.6 friend has one with an original barrel, and I like it just a little more than my G17.

I find many store employees (of all types) talk out their a$$, and guess at responses rather than do their research... That's why I always go back to deal with stores with staff who look after you (Like Wanstalls and Reliable, not WSS or CT).

I don't have any experience with the aftermarket barrels either, so I can't speak about them. I'm lucky enough to be able to appreciate Glock pistols in their original, factory form with full capacity magazines. Still don't understand why the most of us can't, but most of the gun laws don't make any sense anyway.

as far as I know Glock doesn't make a version of the Gen 4 with a restricted length barrel like they did with the threaded barrel gen3's so the store was kind of right, however you can get one with an aftermarket barrel through a couple different stores, mine came from Irunguns

I've got a gen 4 19, with a stainless lone wolf barrel, to me it feels more balanced in my hands then the 17, I'm using the large backstrap with the beavertail

The guns we received in Canada are Gen 3 made in Austria with Austrian made barrels, also the employee was right when he said Glock did not release a Gen 4 Glock 19 into Canada for commercial sale...

You'd be amazed at the amount of gun store employees that actually know nothing about guns.
