wife says I need a new .45 and she buys me a P220

cmon....

Love at first sight. I've just found my next gun.

Any good deals / dealers on these in Canada?

Another vote for a Ruger Blackhawk. I'd be inclined to go with the 4 5/8" convertible model that allows you to shoot either .45 LC or .45 ACP. That way, you can have the best of both worlds. The shorter barrel would balance extremely well. You'd have a lot of fun without the volume/cost of rounds fired out of your typical semi-auto.

HK Mark 23 / Glock 21 3rd Gen .....owned them both, twice lol....Amazing .45 Auto pistols.

I also love the Sig P220R Elite Scorpion ....or any P220 Carry model or standard with NS

The .45ACP is a pleasure to shoot. Hands down my all time favorite. 9mm &.45 Auto always have

I'm mostly in the school of thought that .45 ACP exists to feed 1911s, but if you really want a .45 that isn't a 1911, my picks would be, in order:

1. S&W M&P 45
2. Glock 21 Gen 4
3. HK45

Just a stinky comment
QUOTE=FeistyLemur;11077443]So the wife tells you this? Something in this story sounds a little fishy.

Haven't shot many .45s but the HK 45 handles beautifully and I find it really accurate and controllable. The trigger leaves quite a bit to be desired, so try before you buy.[/QUOTE]

The CZ 97 is a wicked pistol. It's chunky but well built and perfectly finished IMHO. I wasn't a 1911 guy, couldn't get a feel for them, and already having a CZ 75 made the choice easy. Only reason I've decided to sell mine is that in order to become more competitive I believe I need to stick with one and only one pistol for a while.

OK: buy nothing that has a Dlask warranty. This is the whole CZ line, new. Sorry, unhappiness awaits in that direction. If you enjoy abuse, you may enjoy the Dlask experience. I do not. I sold my modern CZ pistols, and fixed my own CZ rifle (but wouldn't buy another). Sorry, CZ. If you choose Dlask, you make some very bad decisions indeed.

The SIG P220 and P227 depends only on how wide you like your grips. I love my P220 pistols. They are wonderful. The P227 feels good but I haven't bought it yet.

The Colt series 80 stainless Commander .45 ACP that my buddy foolishly sold me is also a fantastic shooter. They are not all good, but if you get one that is, you have a truly great pistol.

For a classic revolver that is very hard to beat, the S&W 625 in .45 ACP is one of the finest. I'm not a fan of the new S&W revolvers. Apologies to those of you who have and love them, but I invite you to try the pre-lock equivalents! Having your stupid 12(6) helps, nothing quite like a 3" round butt 625... tell your MP to get rid of this idiotic law and make handguns back into handguns, and you too could enjoy some of the finest revolvers ever built.

In my humble opinion, of course.
