And at the last I heard going to Europe. I "knew" of five VW Schwimmwagens in Canada, till the sixth surfaced last year. Bart Lemmens of VW166.com contacted me and told me about it and we talked briefly at Normandy about the mystery car "somewhere In Quebec north of Montreal" the owners where wondering what they had and seeking his advice. Anyways in time the owners and I got in contact and imagine my great surprise at finding the car only an hour and a half distant. Took two trips up to see this poor old car and take a few pics and in time I placed a (realistic) offer on it but those deep pocketed Europeans scooped it. No big deal as if I had gotten it I would not be attending to it for a good long while as other projects have to be completed first (but it would be cool to own 1/3 of all the schwimmwagens in Canada, AND a kettenkrad). So all that being said I am happy on a couple levels 1. the owners (super nice people) got what they needed for the car and 2. the car will be out of some old barn and restored/driven and enjoyed instead of slowly rusting away and 3. my wife will not be a widow to the garage as it sucks up all ones free time (and money).

^ be still my beating heart, No #### the second I layed eyes on the car I start wargaming in my head the work and process to restore the car.

^ Non original 36Hp motor, but all the engine tins are there.

^ "Bubba" does evil things to cars also and not just firearms. No doubt to "make it better".

^ Dash has a mish-mash of oddball lights and switches.

^ Non original steering wheel, stick a nice Czech repro on and it would look like new.

That one certainly needs its fair share of work, but its always neat to see these old relics pop up once in a while. It will be nice to see it restored and running again.
