So Deer Tags for the 2015 Ontario hunt are now on sale.

Of course they have gone up from $47.30 last year to $48.43 this year.

Plus don't forget the processing fee and HST.

So dig out the $50.69 and get your tag.

Not sure I will even bother next year, I didn't see a single deer the entire 2014 season!!! I even had a doe tag & have NO IDEA why the MNR would give out doe tags for non-existent deer??? (We hunted the Spencerville area just south of Ottawa...)

Cheers
Jay

That is really weird. I saw more deer last year then any years prior. I mostly bow hunt deer, although all my rifle season buddies all had great seasons.

Maybe just the particular spot you hunted had low population. I never heard from anyone that deer numbers were down last season.

Same here, may just sit out 2015, we need a couple mild winters to get the numbers back up

Seriously? That's all I heard, although I did fill my tag.

I am sure premier two mom does not set the price for deer tags. $50.00 for a tag seems reasonable. You can piss that away with a box of good beer and an eight dollar pizza. That would be $1.00 a pound for deer meat (50 lb return per animal). Buck a week .

My observation was that deer numbers were down last year too. We made the decision to hunt buck only even though my brother had an antlerless tag. Finally did get one, second to last day.

I'm already on the verge of giving up on the moose draw, so if I give up on deer hunting too, that doesn't leave much.

Yes it seems like it went for 20 bucks or so to 50 in pretty short order (or maybe I'm just getting old and it seems a short time span).

I hunt deer in 67 (north of Kingston Ontario) and we saw quite a number of deer last year, certainly not a "down" year.

Three different groups totaling seven hunters all punched our tickets with bucks last season, two in the early bow and the rest during the gun season.

Then in the late bow there we were still getting trail cam pics of three different big bucks and numerous does (but no tags left).

Not bad for a gnarly chunk of Canadian shield that goes barely 800 acres.
