Going to change my 10/22 Beauty... What are your thoughts??

The VX-2 UL 3-9X33mm weighs 11.0 oz... I had a couple of them, they are OK, but considering the VX-2 3-9X40 is only 1.5 oz heavier and not much bulkier, I sold the UL's... I find the clarity and brightness to be vastly superior on the full size VX-2 3-9... in addition, Leupold has done away with the ocular lens lock ring on the UL scopes... that did not make me happy... I was always finding my BC caps oriented to one side or the other.

i run one of their Sterling Receivers with the built in rail.

would be interesting to see what the difference in coatings is between my 3 year old one and your new one.

The brightness and clarity are good, but the fixed hunting distance parallax setting is not. I struggled with a non-parallax adjustable Leupold for quite a while until I got a Leupold UL EFR...wouldn't go back. To each their own, as they say.
 
Hoytcanon, I cannot say for sure, but would say so, as they are just finishing them up. It will be costing more $ than the ones listed on their site. I purchased it based on their reputation and would "assume" the coating is just as good if not better as the previous ones.

I'll defiantly have a look at those optics mentioned.

I believe this will be one ###y rifle once I get er completed!! Its been a work in progress for years.
 
All done!! I was going to change out the bolt to a VQ, but love the look of the blued bolt on the new receiver!! I had to call as I couldn't get the bolt in and thought I had to grind a lil to get it in. They told me how to do it. The Dlask tolerances are super tight. I don't think that VQ barrel will ever come out again!! I sanded the opening lightly and had to apply a thin coat of grease and use a block of wood to pound the barrel in!! Now to go get the scope sighted in and receiver broke in!!








 
what is the max power on that scope? most of the people who have made the 50 yard list are running 36x bench scopes. i think i have seen someone do it with like a 20x magnification but i could be wrong. you really need to dial in there at that range. also ammo.... expensive ammo.....really expensive ammo...... like, REALLY, REALLY expensive ammo. for most people anyways. you could win the lottery though and get a gun which shoots cheaper stuff as well as the $0.30+ per round ammo.
