Yes I did, a new Ruger GP-100 Stainless 4" barrel (yeah, 4.2" but I'll call it 4" which is what it would be if idiots hadn't tried to screw all of us handgun shooters!).

Pretty nice gun, now waiting for the chit to get done. They were amazingly fast last time around, so it will be whatever it is I guess.

Looking forward to shooting it, my wife is interested as well, she's so cool!

I was unimpressed by mine

maybe i was more unimpressed by the caliber

when I fire a revolver, I need a 44

I hear that, I have a Redhawk stainless in mind, but I have to up the cash flow first or the wife will have me fixed... you know, LOL!! ;)

Part of the reason is my wife can get used to .38's and I can load those cheaper than a .44.

She has only fired a .22 (pistol) to date but is interested in trying .38 Special. I'll let her try the Blackhawk 6 1/2" with .38's first, then when she's comfortable, the GP-100 4" with 38's.

Where did you pick it up? How much if you don't mind me asking. I was just in island outfitters and they want like 850+ or something like that. I'm waiting for another 550 dollar one to pop up on the ee. I have chit the bed on the last couple and missed out

Let her have at it with the 4.2" GP from the get go. 38's in that revolver are pussy cats. I'm sure she will appreciated the shorter bbl.

I paid a lot more than $550! I paid $825 at Island Outfitters. The gov't. hooked me for $99 in taxes.

Not concerned though, I tend to keep my guns and work out the price per day over how many years of enjoyment and then the gun can get willed to the next available contestant in the shooting gallery!

LOL!

I was in there the other day. I saw they had a bunch of stainless revolvers in the case. They also had bucket 'o bullets for $110. I find the prices pretty steep.

I'm sure you will enjoy it. I really like the 4(.2)" version. As mentioned its a real soft shooter with .38's in it.

I looked at these and was impressed with the build on them . Also really liked the fit in my hand . This might be my first revolver if I can afford one during the summer months . Have to see what the bank account says after I pay for my Browning 1911-380 . I'll be watching for your wives opinion on this little revolver Marcel , and how it shoots for her .

Now that I think about you have a point, a 6 1/2" Blackhawk has a lot of forward weight that she might not find so easy to balance.

I am going to like the new GP-100, I just know it, LOL!

If she'll try it, I'll post about it. I bet she will try with .38 Special, she is always interested and curious as to why I am so interested in guns.

She just shoots .22's so far but likes it and shoots fairly well, I would NOT want to be on the aimed end! ;)

The GP-100 isn't exactly a small gun, it is robust and the 4" weighs 40 oz.

The Hogue grips do feel pretty good for me, I think I will be well satisfied. (I oughta be, it COST enough, LOL! ;) )

I'm sure you are going to like it a lot. It's the only center fire revolver I have that I can comfortably shoot double action and I own more than a few Smiths. I did upgrade the springs on mine with a Wolff spring kit (easy to do and worth it).

If your wife finds the grip a little too big, look around for a set of original GP grips. The rubber ones with wood inlays. Got mine from EBay.

Just picked it up this morning!

I probably could have brought it home yesterday but they couldn't find my STATT on their computer. I had the CFC email it to the store so I didn't have to print it at home, LOL!

Nice gun!!

The Hogue grip is pretty sweet.

I know where you are coming from. Been there waiting for a new gun and someone made a mistake FCK. Glad they fixed it up. I had the GP100 blued with 6in" barrel. Never had an issue. Years ago all the revolver companies started making a 4.25 revolver. Guys will chime in. This was a new thing. I sold my 6in barrel to buy the short one. The balance is nice. I have a 44mag Red Hawk with 7.5 in barrel It's heavy. The lady will love shooting 38's out of it. The n when she's ready shoot some 357 magnums. #### I like my Rugers I bought a SP101 in 22lr Enjoy your new gun. Ruger makes a great firearm

ive got the 4.2 in blue and i was surprised that my wife loves to shoot it.
started her with the 38's then up the 357's.
i think its the short barrel and the weight of the gun that tame the load a lot, but she loves to shoot it.
plus the Hogue grips of course.

I just recently bought the SS 6" BBL version a few weeks ago ,great gun, built like a tank.Wish the front ramp was not just black ,but I masked and painted it flat white ,then two light coats of flour.red.orange (Testors Model Master enamel paint).......much better.

She`s a heavy canon ,but I love that on this revolver.I find the Hogue one piece grip fits my large hands nicely.

Bought mine from JoBrook for $ 780 ,free shipping and a super fast trasnsfer.I had seen my local Cabelas had one for $ 899 ,plenty of markup on that one.

Enjoy !

I love mine. A little extra heft of being over-built, but it's not nose heavy!
Scored mine a while ago. WSS was having a late Sunday sale..... 4.2" stainless for $650 :dancingbanana: Right place, right time :d
