My rifle shoots 1/2" groups @100 yards all day! Really? Prove it.

Thanks for the tip, I've also got N140, N150 and Varget to try out. Starting with 140gr hybrids and 130gr JLKs.

I do love load development for a new rifle, so many possibilities....

Toolman, that is so awesome!
Even with 'under the microscope' and VERY detailed given parameters of this exercise, great work. Exceptional job really.
Nice rig, mmm yes, killer. No direct or indirect pun intended. (or is) haha
I think I'll try something similar with my TacSol X-RING, either at the 100 yrs, or scaled down. (both sounds good)
The very new, to me, SL8-4 might find the mark. we'll see! more inside chuckling at my expense.
that made the to~do list. Later

It must be his Bench Source Annealer coupled with that A&D scale no skill involved lol!

Manitou ... Get ready to put on a happy face 'cause there is no such thing as a 30 BR that won't shoot. I have a half dozen 30 BR barrels and none have disappointed. Even the skinny sporter barrels are shooters. I expect you will be posting pics in this thread.

Your wife lets you shoot out the window off the kitchen table! Now that's impressive!

Finally had a chance to try it out. Custom Rem 700 in 22 br. Kreiger barrel, HS stock, squared and trued action, 4 ounce rifle basix trigger leupold vx3 8-25x50 target dot. Lapua brass and 82gr berger bullets Varget. Should have waited for a day with a bit less wind but its Sask that doesnt happen often.

Hi guys, this my first attempt at the 1/2" challenge, I failed obviously. Hopefully I can get out again this weekend. I'd like to say it was my barrel getting warm that caused me to open up my last group but I know full well it was me.

Here is my gun, savage model 10, hs precision stock, SSS trigger and maclennan barrel chambered in 223AI

Here is the target

Here's the smallest group

I cut the target in half because I did a tracking test on the upper portion.

The groups were all shot off a Harris bipod and Caldwell rest. I'll be sure to snap some pictures of my gun as it sits on the bench on my next attempt.

The group sizes were from top left to bottom right;

1- .397
2- .334
3- .165
4- .888
5- .298

Avg- .416

Hopefully it goes better next time. Group 4 was my last group and I think I got a little excited the last 2 shots of the group were the two flyers. Oh well, maybe next time.
