How rare are these? Or is it just the people that have them, will never let them go? I have put up several wanted ads up on EE for a few years now and no replies. And if I do see a for sale ad up, I am always just to late. So are they really rare or what? WANTED GEN 2 Glock 17!!! lol
 
Not super rare. I watched the EE for about 4 months looking for a nice Gen 1, but gave up when a nearly mint Gen 2 came along. I still look now and again, Gen 1's are hens teeth; Gen 2s come and go semi-regularly.

There was a good looking Gen 2 for sale last time I logged in, something like 4 days ago.

Two in the passed month. I ad from two days ago, I sent him a pm and told him I would take it. Checked the ad later said Spf and no pm in my box.
 
I want an original gen 2 with no mods. I love glock's and really like the look of the gen 2's. And I like pretty much like all older stuff you don't see ever where.

Maybe for someone who will be shooting an insane number of rounds through it. But for a bum like me I doubt it.
 
Hopefuly you are well aware abour a re-call...that wasn't actually the re-call at all according to...well, Glock. Another reason to pick up the newer models over the older ones.
 
There was a Gen 2 G17 that sold on the EE earlier this week. IIRC it was $400 with box & 2 mags.

Never tried a Glock with the lone wolf barrel. I was thinking about getting a Gen 3 RTF2 40 and get the barrel. Would you recommend it? You find the accuracy good?

Accuracy is great, but make sure you get a new guide rod and 11 pound recoil spring. Use that when you're using the 40-9 conversion barrel and you'll have no problems, even with cheap light 115gr loads.
