Yes exactly, good to go!!
Why does everyone ask this question if you have taken you gun/hunting course you should know this . Semi automatic firearms must only have a mag capacity of 5 rounds when hunting .....exception is the .22 rim fire. All other rifles are fine. Shotguns must be pluged to have a mag capacity of 2 rounds while hunting. So your old .303 enfields are fine with their 10 round clips as they are a bolt action rifle.

That's a copy of the hunting synopsis. You should directly read the regs. The summaries in the hunting synopsis are full of generalizations and often contain errors and half truths. All that matters is what is wrote in the regulations and that book isn't the regulations.
OK does it state something different? If so can you please post it?
mnr does not restrict magazine size for hunting with the exception of shotguns, which must be plugged at 2 (plus one in the chamber).
Therefor, if it is legal to own that magazine, its legal to use for hunting.
Migratory Bird Treaty of 1918, Is why it exists on migratory birds both here and the US. The limits on upland game and deer hunting are provincial in nature and thus vary from prov. to prov.
I seem to recall in qc we were able to hunt grouse without mag restrictions (shotgun), unless it has changed. Here in sask it's 2+1. So check your local regs for the province you're in. I'm sure no one offering internet advice is going to cover your legal costs if they're wrong. Call the MNR and ask if there are mag restrictions.
Ok. So in 1918, what was the purpose of limiting magazine capacity? Was there no bag limit back then?
And you other guys, I wouldn't throw Beowulf info around too much, you'll blow somebody's mind! lol

I don't think its legal. I'm sure you can't have more than 5 rds. 1 in chamber and 4 in the mag , you should call the MNR to verify.
I've read through all these posts and wonder how many people Actually shoot coyotes?
I go coyote shooting out to the farm just about every weekend possible and its been many years since I've been able to fire off 4 rounds at once. After the first shot, every next round is a running shot.
I suppose it is hypothetically possible to need 10 rounds for shooting dogs, but I have serious doubts. I don't use 5 rounds in a day, and in fact I prefer the low profile of the 5 round mag.
I'm saying NO....The BX 25 Ruger Charger 25 shot mag fits a 10/22 Ruger...But is a PROHIBITED device in Canada. RESPECTFULLY
1. Magazines designed or manufactured for both rimfire calibre rifles and handguns
Magazines designed to contain rimfire cartridges and designed or manufactured for use in a rifle do not have a regulated capacity. However, magazines designed to contain rimfire cartridges and designed or manufactured for use in a semiautomatic handgun are limited to 10 cartridges. Magazines designed or manufactured for use in both rifles and semiautomatic handguns are subject to the handgun limit of 10 cartridges.
