I'm looking at getting a couple hand de primers so I can sort and de prime as I go are there some better than others what do you guys use?

Ive used a Lee hand tool as well recently, and it worked quite well for what it is. I couldn't see anyone doing large quantity's with one though.

There are plier type tools out there but they're not very popular or common and I don't understand why. With some time and experimentation you can make your own.

I didn't even realize that they make such a thing. A quick google image search showed me how many there are. But in looking at a bunch they all look awkward and slow to use. And they all look like considerable care is needed to ensure the pin gets located in the flash hole. Which isn't going to make it any faster or easier.

I'll stick to just doing them on the press during resizing or on the press with the correct shell button and the universal decapping die and do them in batches of all the same caliber. It's both faster and more certain not to result in bent or broken pins.

I hand deprime all my brass before it is ss tumbled .. first inspection and clean pockets .. use the two sized lee hand deprimers. I also deal with a bit of norc .223 so the lee small diameter hand tool is great for preforming ( saves a lot of .223 brass a universal deprimer would ruin by folding the rim inward ).. also own a lee universal depriming die, but I just like the hands on ..

+1 I don't have the patience to deprime manually so press primers are my choice as well

I used a Pope style tool from Russ Webber to deprime my 32-30 and 32-40 when at the range. I can also use it to prime the 32-40, but prefer the Lee hand primer for that. Those cases never saw a sizing die though. Still have it, useful at the range on occasion, if the cartridge isn't too long for it.. Meacham makes another version of it, believe they put a threaded shellholder on theirs, and supply different decap rods for it, for different cartridges. Stephen Coker is making some cool stuff too.
