Sellers Remorse

When we bought farmland I sold literally everything that wasn't bolted down for the downpayment, including my abolt 300winmag; thing was a tack driver of unbelievable proportions and a very pretty rifle.

Never missed my other guns that I sold, but boy I regretted selling that abolt for decades.

About 20 years ago sold my whole collection minus a centre fire moose gun a Cooey shotgun and my Cooey model 39 22rf. I did this all to keep my house as I got injured at work and couldn't work for a year and had no income, also sold my Articat 340 snow machine , and anything else I could get cold hard cash including the chain link fence !
Since then I only sold one gun that I shouldnt have, a Colt Diamond Back 6" 22rf immaculate ! Since then I haven't ever sold a gun I regreted, only due to better economic standing!

as Old blue Eyes Frank Sinatra, might sing, "Regrets, I have a few............"

And man, do I have a few regrets! I have owned some rifles three times, and of them there are some that I would own four times and then it would be my estate looking to unload them!!!

I have had so many guns that I regret selling it would be unfair to list only one, or only a few, but a Browning Sako in .250 AI from Whynot? and a Ruger #1 in .220 Swift with a muzzle brake come to mind............

Better not to dwell on what is in the rear-view mirror!

A couple come to mind...
Tikka M55 Sporter .243
Colt AR-15 Sporter Match H-bar (Traded straight-up for a new Rem 700 Varmint Synthetic .308 when the AR's went restricted. Couldn't bear the thought of not being able to take it out in the field..)
Not sold, but lost to an ended friendship. No. 4 Mk I* Long Branch in as-new condition, all matching with blonde wood and all the accessories. I think that one actually hurts the most....

My regret was a old but beautiful condition Brno model 52/54 (can't remember which now) in 8x57. it had a butterknife bolt handle and a real nice double set trigger as well as nice iron sights. I even shot my first deer with that rifle but like a fool at about 19 years old traded it off to a guy in central BC. Its probably still floating around that area (I hope) taking deer and moose, it was a really light, handy and accurate gun.

Sold my Ruger mini 30 about 15 years ago for 300$... I was hard up for cash at the time... I'd rather not talk about it lol.
Someday I'll buy a new one:(

What Rifle do you regret selling the most?.

Not the one that got away, or the one you should have bought......
The one you had to sell to buy your first house / get you through the lean times, or the one that was passed down and you foolishly sold.

It's a tough pick for me,
But I think it would have to be my unmolested M700 classic in 35 Whelen. 1/2 moa out to 300y.

I JUST BOUGHT IT BACK!!!........ Woooooooo Hooooo.

I sold a sporterized M96 swede a few years ago. I loved that gun, the aftermarket stock was sleek and fit me well. I replaced it with a Savage 7mm that I've never really come to love and I wish I had that 6.5 back now as I'm planning a build. I loved the feeling of the #### on close. It just cool.

Did you go back to the person to whom you sold it? They might sell it back to you...........

I have bought back many rifles that I had sold, and I have sold back many rifles to their previous owners, especially if they REALLY missed their rifle. I have owned some (individual) rifles three times, and there are a couple if I could ever buy back it would be my fourth time and then "probably" it would stay here as a keeper. I am thinking of a Remington 700 Classic in .300 H&H right now, but there are others............ Fairly often, if I am thinking of selling or swapping a rifle I go back to the person who sold it to me and ask them if they want first dibs on it. Probably one in ten says yes.

They come and they go... I rarely regret their arrival... and I always regret their departure... but there is only so much space available and I only have so much time to hunt and shoot... if they are being neglected, no matter how nice, they go to a new home where they will get some fresh air and exercise... but I am often still sad about it.

I have a regret that I didn't buy a particular rifle. I wish I could go back and buy it now.

It was an old mauser in 6.5x55 for sale at the Kamloops gun show last year. 65 bucks and I could have walked away with it.
