I'm a Leupold guy, and I have been out of the optic game for a few years so I have no info on the Bushnell AR optics, I'm more interested in the 3-12x40 model.

Anyways where does this Bushnell AR line fall into place with other Bushnell scopes? how are the turrets? anything to beware of with this line? what are it's strong points if any?

I have a couple of the new AR series. A 1-4x PCL throwdown and a 4.5-18x40. I believe that only the 1-4x are made in Korea, all the other AR lineup are made in China. The 4.5-18x40 glass is surprisingly pretty clear. The reticle is a little thicker than I'd like. The side focus is a little bit on the stiff side. Eye relief is pretty good too. I haven't shot the 4.5-18x40 as yet as I only got it a couple months ago. Can't complain for the price provided they hold zero. :)

I've been interested in them myself, although I have more of a woody for the Nikon AR line. I have been to a few local shops with the hopes of ACTUALLY looking at one but to no avail. I will be in the US in a few months and I am sure that I can at least Look at one while there. If they are good, I'll pick one up when I get back.

I was set on the 1-4x24 to throw on my XCR, until I saw how much they weigh. 1.7lbs! That's too heavy for a compact optic, my heavy barrelled, quad rail XCR is heavy as it is. I'm gonna spend the extra $60-$70 and pick up a Nikon, it comes in under a pound.

My problem with Nikon was the 3-9 for Nikon is 15.5 inches and the Bushnell is 12.2 inches

I finally found one local (Bushnell) in stock and will look at it Friday. I got a woody about the Bushnell being FFP and in mils not moa. I will be looking at the SFP 1-4 model. The FFP one is not in stock. I figure it is going on an AR and really if I need FFP, I will be at full power and that is probably where the reticle and turrets match anyhow.

1-4x is a solid scope for the money. Turrets don't lock down which kinda sucks but isn't a huge deal, a little wiggle in them but they hold zero. Glass is nice and clear, the scope cover that comes with it is a POS though. As stated above, made in Korea.

Final thought; good value for the money. But there's always something better out there.

I have the PCL illuminated 1-4x24 with throw down. I like it.... The reticle is clear. You don't need to run BUIS if you are used to a red dot, because if the battery dies or fails, your reticle is still there. First focal plane as well for a good price. I have mine mounted on a Burris P.E.P.R mount.

I have one of the basic 1-4 SFP ones on my .223 Savage Axis SR. They're pretty decent scopes for the money. Internally they're the Bushnell Trophy line.

I have one of the 1-4x24 with .223 bullet drop compensating reticle. Its really been quite good.

one criticism. The reticle has very thick cross hairs. Great for close up, but even at 50m the reticle covers big real estate. Hard to be really precise with it.

I have been looking at the 1-4 FFP...might just have to pick one up now.

When I get a chance to handle the FFP ones, I may have to pick one up too. I want to check it out in person and compare it to the new Vortex Strike Eagle, although I do like the fact that the Bushnell is FFP, and in a slightly lower price range than the Vortex... But on the same note, the vortex is a 1-6...

Well I boought the SFP version. It is mounted now. Glass is very clear and with two eyes open the gun feels good. I will sight it in tomorrow and if I have time (with surplus ammo) I'll check the tracking. It is in mil and the clicks are felt and audible, not mushy at all on mine. I'll post some pics.

I have the 2x7 rimfire (On my Mossberg 44) and the 3x9 (on my AR).. both work fine.. as noted tho, they are not light

I have the 3-12, it's actually pretty good. I'll likely be selling it soon, not because I don't like the scope but because my gun isn't overly accurate and will likely be getting a red dot. I haven't done a tracking test in it yet, but it seems to respond well when zeroing.
