If I'm not mistaken, smoke detectors have a very small amount of radioactive elements inside them. Collect and use as required to obtain said powers!

I've melted, cast, loaded and shot aprox 2 five gallon pails of lead isotopes containers in the last 15 years. When is my #### going to fall off??

Nuclear isotope containers must be tested, and/or washed until safe(very short half-life). I'm sure nuclear shielding is tested as well or better.
