Beowulf, LAR15 mags and misinformed officers

I carry a laminated copy of the bulletin 72 in my range bag.
Only $1 to laminate at Staples or Office Depot.

I don't know about that. There was a guy there one busy Saturday with an AR, and no one said anything to him! I asked the guy beside me if (in fact it was an AR) and he said, yup- he brings it here all the time.

CDTSA range is approved for restricted firearms. You're thinking Homestead out in K-country. I've seen more than my fair share of ass-hattery out at Homestead - enough that I'll likely never set foot out there again. I value my life.

Ok you got me curious, I've got .223 10 rounders, but cannot stuff 13 in them. Different caliber to fit 13??????I
Has anyone had any problems with law officers when using a Beowulf or LAR15 magazine? I understand the laws behind it but often feel that most law officer aren't as educated in some of these firearms laws. I also remember the guy that had his XCR seized by misinformed officers (http://www.xcrforum.com/forum/7-gen...ed-due-misinformation-lar-15-mags-canada.html).

The reason I ask is I finally picked up a T97 and plan on using a LAR15 or Beowolf magazine and want to be prepared for any issues. I plan on keeping a copy of the RCMP letter discussing the matter but was curious if anyone else has had to explain why they're shooting 10 or 13 rounds per mag.

Thanks

Various Beowulf mags are pinned to 5rds of .50beo but will feed 13-15rds of 223rem. Don't buy PCV mags if you are competing with them. Low quality, ok for range plinkers, but not for anything on a timer. Metal Beo mags are hitting the market. Get those and don't look back. Al Flahertys and SFRC will be carrying them and I'm sure a few other dealers will.

There are FUDDS everywhere you go; I don't think they are going to be eliminated from any club one goes to, but I have to say, after being a range goer across provinces, the CDTSA group are some of the friendliest bunch out there.

Only one place in town would have enough fudds to foster an environment where someone would say that so my guess is this happened at CDTSA aka Shepard Range?

Man this topic went weird places over the weekend!

CDTSA has never given me static about anything.

This was at a 3-Gun shoot in Lethbridge last summer. It was the guy's first time shooting 3-Gun. It showed.

I had an interesting conversation with a lawyer who swore up and down that the wording in that bulletin made it OK to possess, but not use cross category magazines. He said he'd read the bulletin - but it just goes to show you.
