That is a nice looking SA ,love the idea of a convertible .45LC to .45ACP.

I have a .45 1911 and a Pietta 1873SAA (from Clay) in .45 LC as well a lever in .454 casull/.45 LC ,so this would indeed be worthy of adding to my collection.

Looks like this will go to the top of my list !(just picked up a S&W M&P 9mm range kit ,another one down LOL)

Checked out PR ,I can live with that price.

Bravo !

been there , done that- traded - found the acp cylinder stayed in its pouch( cellphone pouch) and I had to take a lot of meat off the front sight to get it to shoot to poa- and that was factory loads- in short, too damned slow on reloads as well

Gotta to love those Flattop adjustable sights... JP.

I 'lucked' into one of those combos myself a couple of years ago at a gun show in Naniamo. Somewhat similar, but mine is a SS Blackhawk Convertable, 4 5/8".

Still hung on to my 5 1/2" old model Vaquero in 45LC,;) 'Big Iron' by Marty Robins comes to mind.

Wow, nice chit.

How do you decide on barrel lenght?
Have it in my head to own a revolver in 44 something and think
the 7" barrel is the way to go?
What makes you decide on barrel length?

It all depends on what you intend to do with it and mostly the one that appeals to you the most............

I have the same gun. I need to remove material off the front sight for it to hit point of aim and there is a big difference between the .45ACP and .45 LC. I have to say the .45LC is now my favourite round followed by .45ACP. I got a Mares Leg in .45 Colt as well. I picked up 500 new Star Line brass for the .45 Colt that is the way to go. The brass is much cheaper in the USA but I got mine from a vendor in Canada, forget the name right now. Buy it in Canada it is about twice the cost. I tried to get Hogue grips for mine and can't seem to find them. I have model 83000 and they do not fit. The company never did get back to me. The 83000 are for Single Six and Vaquero. One issue I have is the little pin on the rear sight keeps coming out and I have to watch it like crazy or I will loose it. I used the gun in the cold, maybe -10C and the cylinder rod lockup didn't keep the cylinder rod in place so watch that the rod almost came out.

I've had a few in a variety of barrel lengths over the years. In a single action, and for the most part I'm thinking Ruger, with adjustable sights I'd say my preference is 4 5/8". Fixed sights, 5 1/2" and in a double action, 5" or 6" but being 12(6) and ;)a Keith fan, for me, a 4" S&W model 29 is top of the heap:d.
