Wow, nice chit.

How do you decide on barrel lenght?
Have it in my head to own a revolver in 44 something and think
the 7" barrel is the way to go?
What makes you decide on barrel length?

If you buy used you take what there is.

When you buy new you decide what your main purpose for said firearm is & go from there.

Personally, I'd like my next .44 something to be double action & in 4.2" brl trim... ala S&W 629'er.

If Ruger made a convertible Vaquero I'd go for one of those, too.

Have had Blackhawks before but don't care to own one again now, though.

nice looking gun with those ivory coloured grips. like that 4 5/8th particularly

I've been looking at buying the 4 5/8" convertible. Anyone one know if the sights have to be re-adjusted every time the cylinder gets swapped out?…I'm guessing yes.

Different calibers will do that to adjustments... JP.

I know that the Rugers are solid, well built guns but they have none of the visual grace of the Ubertis. I realise that they are different guns but I want a SAA that looks vintage. And 44-40 is the round!

Not so fun to reload...
