hi all.
what comes with the mosin/1000 rnd. ammo deal?
bayo, cleaning kit/tool?is the ammo in a crate in 2 sealed tins?
finally, what condition was/is the nagant in?(dark bore banged up wood year?)
just curious as I'd like to get one.

Also does it come with a sling? I have several and one of my bayonets does not work on any of my guns?? So ask before you buy... The stocks and guns made during the war are not as good as pre and post years. I tried asking CA these questions and I got a " We don't have time". So I spent my money elswhere!!!

Interesting question about the ammo, most crates of x54r of Russian descent are a 2x can 440 round count. I guess it depends where you are buying from that gives an even 1000 round count?

Mosin rifles are tough sturdy rifles and will shoot in almost any condition. Any rifle included in a combo deal will be a shooter rifle rather a collector. If you want something special, you will have to pay extra for it.

On all 6 91/30 rifles I have had the bayonets were real devils to get on and even worse to get off, until I just oiled the inside of the socket up and cleaned off any remaining cosmoline and never again had an issue

Outside of private sales, I don't think I've ever seen a Mosin-Nagant show up without the standard cleaning kit, oil/cleaner can and bayonet. Sometimes with a sling, most times not. If you don't get this stuff you can pick it all up on eBay for little money. I mean little.

As for the rifle itself -- it's always a crap shoot. Most of the time you get a decent rifle. Some online retailers will give you the chance to pay about $25 for a hand select (they'll go through their stock if you have a specific condition/date/arsenal request).

I can't speak to the ammo as I've never done one of those rifle/crate deals but from what I've read they are the wood crates with the two spam cans inside. I'm not sure how that adds up to 1,000 rounds as someone pointed out earlier but I guess they round it up with a few 20 round boxes.

The mosins are a crap shoot. My one bad bayonet I think was run over by a Tiger tank? But it was a hex reciever made in 1935 with a war time stock!!! So having more then one you can swap parts...

I got one of these ammo and rifle deals. The ammo I got was awesome quality compared to the 440 round cans. I had almost no fail to fires out of the 500 round can. The rifle was clean and in great shape! As always there was a pad of targets in the box! I always love extras!!!

Thanks daeo and everyone who answered.
On canam's site the ammo shows in the pics and description 8x125 packs in 2 tins in a crate.the mosin is by itself with no bayo./kit.

If you look at the mosin by itself [for sale on it's own]you see the bayo./kit but no sling.
There are closeup pics of an example of one and it looks good.

The ammo is way better then any chinese crap for similar prices. Its a great combo. With free shipping... Cant be beat.

I believe it's PRC ammo new production corrosive.
So it's chinese stuff--i heard it's m.g. ammo and not very accurate.

Please correct me if i'm wrong.

The stuff mine came with was 100% east european of some sort. But I got my combo a year ago. Maybe it is different ammo now..

Correct, it shoots like suplus ammo. I dont mind it at all, once I run out of Bulgarian Silver tip I'll pick up a couple crates of it.

Is this ammo the same corrosive that was sold as non-corrosive back in May 2014. PRC 1000 rd. cases. Guy's got a $50 store credit after ruining their guns???

The company they bought the ammo from (I don't remember) told canada ammo it was non corrosive so they believed it and marketed as non corrosive but as soon as canam found out they dropped the price and told everyone it was corrosive

That was surplus 7.63x39 which was supposedly non-corrosive. It's all sold now.

IIRC The commercial production x39 and x54r is new (2014) production, and is non-corrosive.

That said, the combo clearly states the ammo is corrosive, so it must be old surplus.

Mosins are generally all over the place, not just bayonets. Not worth it for me anymore. Divested myself of all surplus firearms this year except my Swedish Mauser.
