A new gun is always a special happy congrats
import markings. Previously imported SKSs didn't have them but they are getting more common now

i can see a 91/30 in a crystal ball for some reason!
Now, anybody has an explanation for that malfunction I experienced?
YES, the cleaning rod is too short. Buy a cleaning kit, don't use the supplied rod and you will be fine. EnjoyAlright, I brought this rig to the firing range today. I only fired 40 rounds of CZECH surplus ammo through it. So far, feeding from stripper clips is working fine, although we know it takes only 5 rounds. I had one malfunction: the last round of one volley tilted upwards instead of going in the chamber(bullet tip pointing up) and got wacked/held by the bolt carrier and stayed squished like that. Primer un-strucked. I don't know if this is due to the stripper clip I pushed in (it keeps 5 on the clip of course). The bolt and extractor are looking real good and the firing floats freely.
Besides that, it was fun and surprising. I like the sound, the fact that empty cases are going flying...I took my sweet time cleaning this thing by rinsing with hot water, let it dry, then oil it up a little. De-#### the hammer is a little tricky...ask me how I know...
What I hate the short cleaning rod. either I miss one extension or something, but the rod+ brush is too short, I have to give it a little push with the jig to grab the end of it...maybe I miss something?
Your feedback?
OP, if your follower is riveted make sure things are smooth on the top side of the follwer where the post of the rivet or pin protrudes. If it sits proud or its rough it can cause the last round to stovepipe or fte properly, peen it and file flat and smooth. Should solve the issue
True enough, and then an SVT40, a Tokerev, etc etc.
