Quickest way to reload wheelgun with loose rds.

Never heard of a novice class or a vintage revolver division at any IPSC events but,
It sounds like fun and look at it this way- you will definitely get more range time than anyone else :)
The strips-yes, loose- ok, duct tape- no...fabricate a speed loader somehow- possibly.

If speed is important to you I think with some practice the speed strips will be quicker and have the advantage of keeping all the cartridges together and oriented in a consistent fashion.
I'm guessing you are more practiced with traditional methods vs speed strips (not homemade) so if the times were similar it stands to reason there is more room for improvement with the strips.

Otherwise cartridge loops spaced apart in pairs so you can try and grab 2 at a time might be an option.
Best advice IMHO.

It's in this post.
I don't know much about pistol competitions, so if I am mistaken about the class, please bear with me. Just thought I'd take the old pistols out for some fun.

ok forgive me if this seems stupid and bear in mind I'm not a revolver shooter but could you not make a template out of cardboard with a tab to grab onto and holes for the cartridges and just load the cylinder and yank it out tearing the cardboard in the process. It would obviously be a one time use sort of thing but would be easy to make out of old cereal boxes etc. It would be neat to make one out of inner tube that would stretch over the case heads after loading the cylinder.
