Ruger SR556E & NEA upper in 7.62x39 Compatible?

Just wondering if my new Ruger 556E will accept NEA upper in 7.62x39? Anyone know? please & thank you SgtRock out

I think the magazine well would have to be a larger size? Definitely with .308, but not sure about x39 - good question. Guys?

Yes, the differences are the follower and the feed lips, otherwise the overall dimension of the magazine is still standard issue.

The SR556 has a standard lower, so any upper that works with a standard lower should be fine. All of the strange with the SR happens in the upper.

I had this combo.
The pins were tight but it fit on there.
Your hammer spring may be too weak for x39 surplus.
Wolff extra power is the cure.

The pins on the SR are pretty tight with the Ruger upper.
