I am looking to add a pistol in 10mm to my herd, one dealer have those gorgeous FDE 10mm Glock, they are not my favorite for shooting but we know there will be full reliable... Any of you shoot a Glock 10mm... JP.

I bought 2 Lone Wolf barrels to put into it - 1 in 10mm (for Buffalo Bore hard cast....more on that later), and 1 in .40 conversion so I could shoot .40s out of it for cheaper practice. It's a drop in replacement and still uses the same recoil spring, guide rod, and mags as the 10mm. Consequently, yt makes the .40 feel like a 9mm light

Shooting factory 10mm feel like shooting 40s. The factory ammo has been downloaded to wimpy status.

You need to reload in order to really bring out the full potential of the round. I reload to normal 10mm power levels, which makes it more powerful than a .357magnum, but not quite as powerful as a "normal" .41 magnum (and this with a 200gr projectile). It's a completely flat shooting round at any distances you would ever use it at, and has more energy at 300 feet than a .45 has at the muzzle. The recoil is manageable and not punishing, but it definitely lets you know that you best put down your purse if you want to shoot these manly rounds.

I use it now primarily to shoot .40 out of when the mood strikes me, and for wilderness carry in the US. For those US trips, I use Buffalo Bore 220gr hard cast flat nose @ 1500 fps (!)

If you're ever in/around Mtl, drop me a PM and we'll go to CRAFM together and you can try mine out

It's standard issue for the elite Danish naval unit that conducts long range recce patrols in Polar Bear country. They said they needed the stopping power for the white bruins to go along with their Enfield's re-chambered in 30-06

Has anyone seen or tried the Glock 40 gen 4. I like my 35 gen 4 but a 10mm long slide would be real nice and you probably will get another 100ft/sec. I have not seen them anywhere.

I've owned 2 gen 3 and 2 gen 4 model 20s. They are really tough guns. The pistol I used the most had well over 10,000 rounds of mostly full power loads and the only thing I ever replaced was a broken trigger pin. It still functioned with the pin broken, not sure how long it was like that before I noticed. My current 20 is a 4th gen with 24lbs recoil spring, storm lake 5" threaded barrel and night sights. It runs like a champ with everything I put through it.

JP, I've owned three G20's, they were OK(like any other glock), reasonably accurate, reliable and tough. Sold all my 10mm's except my one of 1660 manufactured S&W 1086. It's an all steel pistol, witch I prefer and holds 9 rounds. If you can find a gen 3 S&W 10mm that's what I would get.

Didn't I ever heard you say that your glocks were paperweights??

You have done glock and it didn't resonate. If I was going glock I would be more tempted to go with the new 6" model 40 with the optic option, than the model 20. 6" seems right in 10mm to me.
Given you are such a 1911 fan, you could go for one those -Dan Wesson, Colt Delta, Kimber (gasp). You could also hold off for a sig p220 in 10mm (thinking about that myself). I would go for the old Smiths as well if you can find the model you like.

Fingers crossed IRG can bring these in, I know MD Charlton will eventually, but it will take forever.

I need a a FDE for my collection, ( but i might wait for a P220, i had forgot about these ones) and since my Glocks have become SBR , i am found of them... JP.

Another vote for the Sig P220 in 10mm! There is supposed to be an announcement as far as availability around the first of April. I am hopeful MDC will be able to get them in promptly.

I've read a number of the replies here from guys who've owned multiple samples of the same pistol in the same chambering. Why would you buy more than (1) and then replace it down the road, only to buy one (or more) again? What's the rationale? I highly doubt it's a situation where you're wearing them out.

Bought my 60th 308 rifle yesterday, i am quite irrational... JP.

Also heard about the new 10mm P220's MSRP'd at $1422 & $1713 US for the hunt model. With our weak currency, the base Elite models will probably be $1600+ pistols witch is pretty steep for a P220. Plus the fact that there's no solid real world review at the moment. Can't really compare with the tried, tested & true S&W 3rd Gen 10mm auto pistol.

Well in my case it's pretty simple, I bought an early gen 2 Glock 20 in the mid 90's with Trijicon night sights that I used for work back then. I was later forced to switch to a more "standard" pistol (the 10mm loaded with 15+1 rounds of Winchester 175gr silvertips was making my superiors nervous I guess), I sold that one. A few years later I found a gen 3.5 for sale at a great price so bought it. Sold it to a buddy that wanted it more than I. Came across another one for cheap and since I always had the 10mm nostalgia I bought it, I had then stopped reloading and coudn't easely find 10mm ammo anywhere and when I did cost was a lot more than good'ol .45 so only kept the unfired in box S&W 1086.
