Looking for a 32-20 rifle -- point me in the right direction?

Can any of you guys ''in the know" point me in the direction to where I can find a high quality rifle chambered in 32-20? I already took a few ads out in EE, but no real luck.

I've got the brass, powder, and bullets (as I reload for a lovely Swiss 1882), and I wouldn't mind a rifle to enjoy in the field.
 
I've a Husqvarna single shot in 32-20, a single shot octagonal bbl with a 1st generation mauser bolt...a 1871 is the one IIRC.
Tradex gets them in now and again, but often sans extractor (not easily remedied). I got mine from a gun sellor on here, out of QC I believe.
Beautifully machined rifle IMO. Primitive sights though, it cries out for a Malcolm scope, lol.
But with Speer personal defense 60 gr JHP at 1400 fps, a gopher hammer!

We had a Savage like that as a kid; good gun, a tad too much stamped metal for me. No offense intended of course.
If we've a nice day tomorrow, I'll set my Huskie up out in the sun for a photo shoot. It's about what you would expect from Husqvarna...even the rear sight is a two position, flip up / down machined piece. Beautiful gun, a tad front heavy; almost like a big old 50 caliber plains rifle. Lighter of course, but the same balance point.
I'm a fan of the 32-20, I think it bats way outside it's league. A tad behind a 22 Hornet in gopher nuke - ability, but a heavy hitter on the Richardson Ground Squirrel none the less.
And 32-20 Blues on the stereo...gtg
 
I'm looking for a repeater as well. For now, I am having a lot of fun with one of those Tradex Husqvanas. I modified a 1.5X pistol scope to clamp directly on the rear leaf sight, scout rifle style and it now drills anything I can hold steady on. Working towards heavier weight bullets and hoping for a rimmed 300 black equivalent. Break action rifles like the Encore are also a possibility, but hard to find in 32-20 unless you build one.

My solution to getting a rimmed .300 Blackout equivalent was to do up a Lee Enfield No.4 Mk 1 in .32-40 Win. to get decent accuracy combined with 170 gr. boolits out to 200+ yds. Fookin' squirrel nuker fer sure & does deer inside 100 yds. without worries.:)

I've had good luck with an early Remington Pump, 32-20, take down version. . I believe it's a Model 25 from the 1920's. . excellent condition with a pristine bore. . I not sure how common they are but if you can find one in decent condition you can't help but like it. . I'll check and see if I have a picture of it somewhere

I got it 15 or so years ago from the grand daughter of an old time miner here on Vancouver Island. . He bought it new and used it for black tail deer.




 
That is a really nice rifle, nicer than my Huskie I'd say.
But as promised; a few pic's...and in my defence, pic's are not my forte, lol. It is hot in from gopher hunting now; and ' Rainman ' with wood could make it shine ( not me, I'm a metal fella)...can't see it very well, but it's got a nice Tiger print / flame pattern to the wood grain.



 
If you want a high quality rifle chambered in 32-20, then nothing beats the Browning Model 53. There was a limited production run of them some 20 years ago, but they do come up for sale from time to time. There are several up for auction right now on Gunbroker (example: http://w********ww.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=474375709) The fit and finish on these little lever guns is beautiful and they usually have gorgeous wood as well. I have longed for one for many years, but have an original Winchester Model 53 chambered in 32-20 instead. They are worth the price. You can bid on the US Auctions, don't tell them you are from Canada, but follow the instructions of Prophet River Firearms (a sponsor of this forum). They will handle everything for you, including delivery right to your door.

That rifle is beyond beautiful! However, for that amount of money and hassle, I would have to physically inspect first. After being burned twice, I have a "handle first" policy, unless it is from my small "trusted EE seller" list.

The bore is good, not a mirror finish but sharp rifling. Maybe a 75% bore condition.
They are quite affordable, like 325 $ IIRC.
I use Unique, which is a dirty powder IMO. The tolerances on these rifles are so tight that the residue from the smoke will make the bolt tight to close after 40-50 rds. Very well made.
Got a cooey trigger though; and the front sight is too thick. This rifle would benefit greatly from the addition of a pistol scope with the longer eye relief mounted forward of the action. Or pick up a dewat from Tradex, bend the bolt and mount a Malcolm scope

'92's are neat, I just can't understand their 'enhanced pricing'
Like 1000 $ + for a pistol cartridge lever action rifle... and the bores are usually fair at best?
But nice guns, just an inflated value IMO
I'd take a Savage bolt repeater long before an '92. Pay 30 % of the price for a rifle that will shoot rings around more expensive version. Let me think...I'll take the Savage thanks
