I used too, many years ago. I'd have marks on my face and glasses. Then it stopped. Some new shooters still get it when I give them my gun. I'm really not sure why. Cheek weld perhaps?
I have 3k+ rounds through mine, and have experienced it maybe 3 times. I have introduced a dozen or more people to shooting with it as well, and none of them have had it happen to them either.
It seems very touchy on everything lining up perfectly to have it happen.
I heard someone refer to something they called Tavor eye. Is this the same?
I got an irritated right eye from the smoke from my K12 Puma (12 gauge T97 copy) after firing from the right shoulder.
I used electrical tape to seal the ejection port cover (remove it, taped up around the edges on the cover facing in) and it has greatly reduced any gas coming at my face. There's also a very small gap between the rear end of the rail and the stock (you'll have to unscrew the rail to see it) where I also taped up. Both have greatly reduced gas hitting my face.
