SVT-40 Bayonets destroyed after the war? Or maybe just buried under a pile of coal?

Any more info on this? I've got 2 SVT's that need some hardware!

Nothing so far from Martin - he's smart enough to keep his lips sealed until he's unloading the crates.

If country of origin is what I think it is, there's a ridiculous amount of bureaucracy to sort out. Getting historical knives out of that country goes through their ministry of culture, which makes it harder to do than getting milsurp rifles (oh, what a world we live in) which goes through their defence ministry.

I already have 2 SVT bayos (and only one SVT), but I might scractch an itch and get another when these arrive. It will truly be a happy day for the red rifle crowd when these come in. The bayos are rarer than the rifles, by far.

More likely some commie official was short on or skimming the coal shipments and used what ever was handy to bulk up the pile. Things folks will do to stay out of the Gulag!

Very much doubt it. Since this is in Poland, it's most likely the workers deliberately hid them there. Just incase they needed them to fight the Russians or Germans again.

Reminds me of a line an old German I used to play cribbage once use when he was trying to throw me off my count...

"You know, in 1939 when we invaded Poland, that wasn't really a war. That was tradition."
