Ordering this I expected a hardwood sks that was rejected from being sold alone, But It was surprisingly very nice! I got a laminate stock so its a win win because I was missing one for my collection, It looks like a 1956 with the un stamped dust cover. Everything is matching except the magazine. Still cleaned from cosmoline.

Looks like you lucked out and got a real beauty. I would be worried about getting a bbq paint gun when you order from a company that says you get no choice of what gun you get. I would be happy with that one though. I am not a big fan of the laminate stocks but that one is the nicest I have seen.
 
Very nice! Ill jump on one of these deals sooner or later. Looks to be better quality than what WSS is offering locally

It's more of a parkerized finish, it's really durable and tough. At least the one I recieved last sept is like that, the bolt carrier was defiantly painted and not parkerized. Cleaning the bolt carrier with Hoppes started to pull it off, the rifle itself hasn't lost any of the finish. No matter what I clean it with, it's baked on there good. It's really tough, compared to some Ive seen in stores.
 
Mine was not so nice. BBQ paint. Mismatched. Poking out of the box when it arrived (to be expected when it's free to slide around in a box with absolutely zero packing material). Mag release doesn't slide far enough back to release the mag. A rifle I would have never purchased for $150 if I could have chosen.
